Tackling Infidelity

For some reason, films that tackles infidelity is a hit in movie goers. Take for example No Other Woman and the very recent film, A Secret Affair. I've seen the first film but no the second one. Could it be that Anne Curtis and Derek Ramsey are the lead characters thus their films are top grosser or could it be the story itself that drawn people into watching it.

There are times that I have this what if moment playing in my mind. What if I'm Christine Reyes in No Other Woman? What will I do? Should I fight for our marriage? Or should I drop it like a hot potato?
I'm praying that infidelity will not cross our marriage life (we've been married for 5 years) and so far so good.  My hubby is a very Catholic man that he sometimes engage himself in debates about religion but it helps to know that infidelity is not something he will entertain. So I'm relieved somehow.

I can't help it but share these questions being asked in an online community group that I'm a part of. The purpose is to enlighten each other and share different POVs on how you will face infidelity if it hits you right in the face.

Read on and let me know your thoughts as well...

1) Will you lose your grip or make a scene and confront your husband if you found out that he went to a  beer house with a GRO on his table? Yes, I think every wife will be pissed off with this scene, who doesn't? Especially if you caught them in flirting mode or worst making out!

2) Do you think your husband will ever cheat? Are you paranoid? Or are you confident that he is loyal?
I'm confident at the moment that he is loyal to me. But then again, I'm open to possibilities. You'll never know what will happen in the next 5 years but I hope and pray that he will be forever loyal to me.

3) Let's say your husband cheated on you (have an affair), do you fight or leave? Is it right to leave your husband with his mistress or to fight for your marriage and for your children? Since we don't have kids yet, it's easy for me to say I will leave him and his mistress but then again if my husband tells me that I'm the one he loves and that he is sorry for being weak (yeah cheating is a sign of weakness) then I'll give him another chance. But if it happens again, I guess I have to let go. Where's the respect if you will do it for the 2nd time around?

4) Do you experience having an affair or your husband having an affair apart from you (at any level, whether ripe for an affair, girlfriend, mistress)? How did you deal with it?  Thank goodness we didn't have any extra affairs even if we're still in bf-gf relationship and I hope what we have now will be for keeps.

5) For those who say that they will fight for their marriage, how do you do that? I have no clue to be honest but what I will do is pray alone. Ask for guidance and strength to get me through this trial. Then I will have a heart to heart talk with my husband and ask him  to pray the rosary with me. I believe in the power of praying the rosary.

Good job bro!

I can't resist to share this to y'all! I'm one happy sister! So far all my efforts and hardship to send him to school is paying off. I'm not asking my brother to give me super high grades. I'm fine so as long all his subjects are passing marks and yes, it must be line of 8. Sorry, I can't help it to include that remark.

First Semester Grades - BS IS

I always tell him that it's not the school that defines a person. It's how resourceful/innovative you can be and  how you applied those skills that you learned in school after graduating that matters. I've seen a lot of people who came from prestigious and well-known schools but end up jobless/unemployed. They lack the guts and confidence (I'm basing this through my own experience and I will not mention any name).

Keep it up bro! I have faith in you. Just continue to strive and be careful to stay alive in the jungle. Yeah, college nowadays is like a jungle. You need to be tough.

Diana Stalder Anniversary Promo

Anniversary Promo of Diana Stalder (grab from  their FB page)

For the whole month of October, Diana Stalder are offering different promos as a way of their thanks to those who religiously patronize their services and products. I must admit, I've never tried their products and services at all. The first time I did was way back in June of this year when I used one of the three vouchers I purchased in a groupon deal site for their 14-Step Facial Rejuvenation. I went to their Makati branch after office hours to redeem the voucher. At that time, I didn't enjoy much the facial, I felt that my facial was rushed because it only lasted for 30-40 mins.

My second facial was on October 1st and this time around, I like their facial treatment. Probably because I scheduled it at 2pm and used my lunch break.  It was not rushed and the attendant is accommodating (we're taking about my skin and how to take care of it). My face felt cleaned and it looked cleaned so I'm a happy customer. On my way out  that's where I learned about their promos through Diane and Libay. That was Monday and they have a promo of their 30g soaps for Php6! That's right! So even though it's not in my plan to buy anything, I ended up purchasing lemon soap and glutathione soap.

My Diana Stalder loot
Glutathione and Lemon Soaps (30g)
I put on a CD so you can see the actual size of the soap.
It's perfect for traveling or as a gift.

October 11, I went again to Diana Stalder Makati branch and this time I purchased their famous black soap. The price is Php16 per piece. Just like before, 5pcs per customer is the limit. I was not able to get their other products on sale at Php 16 like foot scrub, body wash, shower gel, etc. since the stocks run out. Boohoo!

actual size of their regular sized soap
The black soap whitens the dark areas and even the skin tone but you have to use it at night. If you want a whitening soap that doesn't dry your skin and can be use during daytime then you need to have their Papaya Acid Kojic soap.

October 12, I went back to their office this time to avail the 3 soaps (kojic papaya+collagen+lemon) equals to Php 160. I know the thought that's running in your mind that I maybe crazy in religiously going back and forth for their products. I can't help it, their promos are too good to pass up. For this 3 soaps promo, 3 sets is the max limit which means you can get 9 soaps. Their quite flexible with the variants that you can purchase, say you can get 3 kogic papaya or 3 collagen or 3 lemon soap or mixed the variants depending on your  preference. By the way, the sizes of the soap are similar to the black soap.

30g Lemon Soap versus the Black Soap
Got myself a freebie during my first purchase of the soaps - a soap holder

You still have a week and a half left to avail of their promos. If I'm not mistaken the regular price of their 30g soap is Php 50-60 while their regular sized soap costs around Php 200+. The very reason why the stocks run up fast.

I'm planning to buy another 5 pcs of black soap this coming Thursday and another set of the 3 soaps on Friday. I'm after their collagen soap since this item is selling hot. One piece of advice, call your nearest Derma Stalder branch first to check the other promos within the day that you decided to visit their office. Second, make sure to be there early. On my case, I make it a point to be there in the office at exactly 10am. That's the time that their office usually opens.

As for the reviews on their products, I don't have any at the moment since I just started using their black soap last night. As for their kojic papaya, I think I need 2-4 weeks to see any difference on my skin. I haven't tried using the collagen soap yet but soon I will.

RIP Sir Fol

It's been 3 days since Fol Rana (aka Fulgencio Rana Jr.) was laid to rest. He has a day job as a banker (a Vice President to be exact) but he didn't stop from there. His passion in photography led him to have his own photography/video company.  That's where I've known him. In the wedding industry, his name is one of the many photographers and videographers you'll come across with.

While I was busy preparing my wedding way back in 2006, I've been hearing a lot of good reviews of Fol Rana. If I'm not mistaken, on that year he launched Moving Pictures which meant an onsite wedding video. Today it goes by the name of Same Edit Video. This is where highlights of the wedding preparation, wedding ceremony and reception are shown on video for the couples and guests. During that time, having an onsite wedding video of our own is a nice to have. Obviously, we can't afford getting one so I already set my mind that we won't be having one.

But came W@W Auction 2006 where wedding  suppliers will auction their services for the couples. All you have to do is bid and may the best bidder win. Good thing I was working at night so I was patiently waiting to make a strike and bid. I won three items back then - (1) Prenup service from Jun Valbuena that costs me Php 1500 or 2k; (2) Photo AVP by Richel Mascarinas which costs me Php 1250 or Php 1500; and lastly (3) Onsite Wedding Video by Moving Pictures which costs me Php 750. Yes! It's only Php 750! The best deal that I got from W@W Auction. I was ecstatic and couldn't stop thanking Ms. Benz and of course Sir Fol. Imagine he gave a GO signal to grant me the onsite video for a fraction of its cost. FYI, onsite video by Moving Pictures back then is worth Php 15,000.

Here's the product of Moving Pictures on our wedding day:

I so love the background music. Stolen by Dashboard Confessional
I was hoping that the Moving Pictures team will select an alternative music and they did!

After our wedding I remember giving my utmost thanks to Sir Fol for a job well done on our onsite wedding video. Though it's only Php 750, he treated me as his full client that deserves to have a quality output of his services.  I'll be forever grateful for this Sir Fol and it's nice to have a piece of you with us to remember you as a photographer/ videographer who takes art into the next level (he is one of the photographers who started the Boudoir concept).

Have a safe journey Sir! You have lived life to the fullest like the rest of us should.

Scam Sam

I've been meaning to blog about this text/SMS scam that I often received for the last month. Initially I thought it's authentic but good thing I search in Google if anyone/ anybody experienced it or it's just me who "luckily" got chosen. A brief overview about the text, there's a girl named Sam Mendoza who is a DOST Scholar living in a boarding house in Bacolod who wants to go to Manila for a final job interview. She's asking for help by sending SMS/ text to random Globe numbers asking for money. In return of the money that the Good Samaritan will send to her, she's willing to do anything to repay the kindness.

Turns out that the text from a Sam Mendoza goes way back to 2010. See the ff. links who posted about the text from Sam and the date of their blog entries...

And here's the content of the text that was sent to me. So far, this was the longest SMS she/he sent me and it came from 0915-5051754.

I'm thinking of how he/she get my number. My hunch is probably from the fliers that I asked my brother to give to the neighbors to promote my Human Nature products (I'm one proud dealer!). I didn't bother calling the number being used by "Sam". Didn't bother to send a text as well. Whoever's behind it, karma is just around the corner waiting to pounce.

Create your own Facebook Cover

There's been a lot of commotion and protests when Facebook decided to change the format of your profile to timeline. I'm actually one of those who protests as I find the interface confusing. Eventually I got the hang of it and was even excited to change my cover photos. Most of the cover photos that I saw are pictures that those people liked the most say a picture of yourself with the family or with your special someone, or a place that you've visited.

For some creative people like my youngest sister, she's creating a customized or personalized Facebook cover to stand out or be unique. I can't blame her for that because even I had some moments where I want to stand out and be different.

Wedding Preps.....again

Yup! That's right, I'm back to wedding planning/ preparations again and no, it's not me who's going to walk down the aisle (though it's a good idea to do it again after 20 years).

I'm helping my sister with her wedding next year. Target month is November or December. Ha! I told her that December is the wedding month here in the Philippines versus the month of June in the USA. So good luck in getting a weekend dates for December.

To start of her wedding preparations, I've registered to a few bridal fairs. The first two that I attended were in NBC Tent and in MegaTrade Hall. I just gathered the brochures and fliers that the wedding suppliers are giving out so I can say there's no progress at all. The last bridal fair that I attended for this year is in SMX Convention Center. That was last September 9 and as always, it's the biggest bridal fair ever! Themes and Motifs Wedding Expo is always a hit. It's well-organized and majority of the suppliers in the wedding industry are there. Best of all, the venues are spacious which is super plus for me.

We walked to and fro to along the aisles of the fair, making inquiries on the suppliers that my sister shortlisted.

Tons of fliers and brochures are inside of these folders....

On that bridal fair, VS&F Catering held a grand food tasting event. We didn't make it to the grand food tasting since they run out of food but we manage to taste their Hickory Babyback Ribs by paying for the meal. Hehehehe.

Php 250 for this meal. Drinks not included.
The baby back ribs is tender and the sauce is sweet, a little bit too sweet for me though.

After our dinner, we're back on our feet to give the place a good one more sweep. Then I stopped on WingDingz booth to check out their invitations which amazed me since 5 years ago the invitations back then have a traditional concept.

Like any other bridal fairs, suppliers offers discounts any freebies if you booked them on the spot. What's more, you can also make a reservation and have the prices they offer in the fair locked down! That's what I'm actually after, locking down the prices for the discount is around 5-20%. So, I persuaded my sister if she can make a reservation for their wedding invitations by sharing this in FB...

Check out the SRP and the Bridal Fair price....it's a good deal, isn't it?

Interesting ideas for an invitation...

You'll just need to pay  Php 1,000 to make a reservation and lock down the prices (see the red ones) so my sister finally agreed and we got Wingdingz as their supplier! Yey! One down and more to go....hehehehe.

Fast track to today, I already scheduled an appointment in Palmos Weddings (the maker of my wedding gown) on December 28th in their Alabang office. I've never been there since I always have my appointments in their Makati office. But I do hope that my sister will be a Palmos bride like me!

Last September 30, we joined the Grand Food Tasting of Josiah's Catering in 1Espalande. Since there's no other way for my sister and her fiance to do this themselves, me and my hubby together with the groom's sisters joined forces in putting our taste buds to the test. I'll make a separate entry about our experience in Josiah's food tasting event. I was so bloated on that day and I get a little dizzy. Uh-oh does it mean my cholesterol level is shooting up?!

Coming this weekend (October 6)  is another food tasting event courtesy of Juan Carlo Catering in Fernbrook Gardens. This will be interesting since my sister is eyeing Fernbrook as their reception venue so I'll be hitting two birds with one stone on Saturday. I'm so excited for this and hopefully it doesn't rain.

So there you have it, I'm juggling my full-time and sideline with the wedding preparations. My hands are so full that I forgot to blog the things that I want to share with you guys. I wish I have a better internet or a good reliable smartphone that I can use.
