Glamorous

So sorry for the lack of updates in my blog. I didn't expect that having a full-time work can take up so much of my time. Can you believe that I even stayed 12 hours in the office just to finish up the JOs that they assigned to me. I was a little bit traumatized and swore that I won't ever let myself spend working for that long again.

On a different note since Christmas is just a few winks away, I would like to share a picture of myself during our Christmas party held in Makati Shangrila (one of the poshest hotel in the Metro). And yes, if you read my previous entry about my retail therapy in Forever 21 you will see the dress that I've been gushing about.

Without further ado....here it is...

Sorry about the knitted sweater as I need to bring something that will keep me warm inside the ballroom. Everybody that is close to me knows that I easily get cold. I should have asked my friend to hold it for me while I have my picture taken. Tsk! Regrets...

Btw, did you see the shoes I'm wearing? It's my sister's shoes which I so love! She bought it in Shanghai when she was working there. Here's a close-up look of the shoes...

I'm the first one to use this pair of shoes! Hehehehe. That's why my sister was hesitant to let me borrow it but of course my skills in persuasion prevails!

That's it for now. I have a lot of things on my mind and stories that I want to share in this blog but having a busy schedule like me, I can only manage to squeeze in one entry in a week which is a bummer as I want to keep this blog alive and kicking like before.

I'm wishing for a smooth sailing days before 2011 ends...

I so wanted to go to this place since last year! I'm waiting for a nice online deal to grab me this vacation. Early of this year there was this deal that is less than 20k for a vacation for 2 to Bellaroca and I was contemplating if I would purchase or not. Only a few people knows about that deal since there are like 40+ coupons left. I decided to think it over...real hard and by the time I reached home from the office, the deal is closed. Just thinking about it makes me want to kick myself in the head...

Thanks to N@Wies for sharing this. This online support group really rocks and I'm proud to be a part of it!

Retail Therapy @ Forever 21

Last Thursday I asked a dear friend of mine to accompany me in Forever 21 store in SM Makati. Our goal is to find myself a dress to wear for a Black & White Christmas party theme.

There are lots of clothing that my friend suggested but I have insecurities and doubts if I can be able to pull them off so we scoured the store for something that I am comfortable with.

After 15 minutes, my friend is excited to show me a black dress in my size. She hurriedly ushered me to the fitting room and I obeyed her since I like the dress as well :)

Lo! It fitted me perfectly! Normally I'm having issues with the dress being too tight or loose but this one is just right. After the dress fitting we went to get some accessories to pair up with the dress. Since my dress is black then my accessories and shoes will be white.

One-shouldered black dress with ruffles on the right side (Php 1,435)

detail of the dress

Gold/ Cream Rose Ring (Php 175) and Cream/Clear Earrings (Php 305)

I love the shop! If only I have extra money, I'll probably end up buying the black/glittery blouse that my friend suggested to be paired up with a skirt. It's perfect to wear when going out with friends or clubbing (well I don't do visit clubs anymore. I find it noisy).

Some items in the store are on sale so for those who want to dress up for the holiday season, put Forever 21 on your list to visit for shopping.

Human Nature for Babies

Today Human Nature is launching it's new products just in time for the Christmas Season and it's good to know that they have included a product line for babies.

Presenting -  Human Nature Baby Wash, Baby Lotion and Baby Oil.

Now there's more reason to love Human Nature since they have products for the whole family. I've been a dealer for more than a ayear and I will be honest that last year I was not active in promoting the products. Only recently that I got the drive to introduce it to other people since I have nothing much to do (the advantages of being a bum for one quarter and a working from home individual).

I already made a couple of reservation for these baby products to be given as gifts to friends. I hope they will like it as much as I like my personal Human Nature favorites - Feminine Wash, Moisturizing Conditioner and Sunflower Beauty Oil.

To know more about Human Nature, it's products and advocacies just go to their official website - http://www.humanheartnature.com/main.html

Solenad Nuvali

It was my first time to visit this place last October 16 and I thank my good and dear friend Macon for touring us. We arrived at around 7:30pm and surprisingly even if it's Sunday, there's a lot of people roaming around and just plain relaxing with family and friends.

Accoding to Solenad Nuvali FB page, "Solenad blends essential shopping with leisure and dining in a relaxing, al fresco, lakeside environment. The area is connected to the now operational Lakesize Evozone commercial area by dedicated pedestrian and bike lanes. The Lakeside Evozone is the refreshing campus-like commercial area of NUVALI. It creates a new space for offices and businesses to thrive in an environment of productivity and connectivity. Solenad sits at the entrance of the Lakeside Evozone area coming from the Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay Road, and is nestled next to a 4-hectare lake. Its accessible and picturesque location invites people to sit, sip and dine with family and friends. Solenad has also become a destination for the surrounding communities of Sta. Rosa, Calamba, Tagaytay and Manila."

Solenad is developed by Ayala Land and it will be the Boni Hight Street counterpart of the South or even better because of it's nature setting. There's a lake where Koi fishes swim freely. Families can go on picnic, friends can go biking or they can rent a boat to enjoy the lake and the fishes. Truly it's a welcoming and refreshing breather from the congested and polluted city life.

Unfortunately when we went there the lake is under renovation so no Koi fishes greeted us. Bummer!

Solenad is along the Sta. Rosa exit going to Tagaytay

different shops and establishments lined up

i love the atmosphere! very relaxing

Yup! Convergys has an office here and they are the first call center in the area

I'm definitely going back here to check out the lake and the Koi fishies.
I wish I have my own bike so I can bring it along and explore the whole place.

Investing on Stocks

It's been 2 months since I attended a stock seminar and as much as I want to start investing my employment stability is questionable but next month I'm so decided in securing my future.

Other countries offer penny stocks also known as cent stocks but here in the Philippines I'm sure that we don't have that kind of option. It will be nice if high school students will be financially educated through this kind of stock investment or even below middle class families can enjoy the importance of having savings regardless if it's in a small amount of money. Filipinos are not well-educated when it comes to finances and handling them thus that's the reason why a lot of people are contented on what they have or for as long as they get  by everyday, it's fine.

Timothy Sykes is the number one ranked trader out of 60,000+ on Covestor, a platform that verifies trades and performance, this is according to Wikipedia. He is considered as a penny stock millionaire. During his early life he experienced losing his investment and recently he bounced back and proved us that anybody can become something out of nothing.

Like Timothy there are others who provides success and financial coaching. The only thing that is left for us to do is to listen and make it happen. I for one would want to make some changes before this year ends and that's by becoming financially educated, cleared out my debts (credit cards) and invest. After all, who wants to be an employee forever?

Pepero Day

Surprised that Koreans celebrate a day like this today :)

According to Wikipedia-  Pepero Day is an observance in South Korea similar to Valentine's Day. It is named after the Korean snack Pepero and held on November 11, since the date "11/11" resembles four sticks of Pepero.[3][4] The holiday is observed mostly by young people and couples, who exchange Pepero sticks, other candies, and romantic gifts.

Now let's focus on Pepero which started it all. PEPERO (빼빼로) is a cookie stick, dipped in chocolate syrup, manufactured by Lotte Confectionery in South Korea since 1983. It was inspired by the Japanese product, Pocky produced by Glico.

Look at those sticks! Makes me want to try one :)

Isn't it amazing that they have a celebration inspired by food? And I thought Koreans are not into sweets and junk foods since most of them are slim (well, majority of their actors and actresses are).

Now the nearest Korean Grocery store that I found is Seoul Seoul Mart besides Alabang Town Center. I still need to check where exactly is the location through Google since next week I will be on that area to watch Breaking Dawn :)

Anybody who tried Pepero sticks?

Playful Kiss

I can't believe that I'm staying up this late just to finish this korean romantic-comedy TV series. I've been hearing a good feeback so I decided to watch it for myself and boy, I was not disappointed at all. maybe it helps that I'm still a teenager at hear (wink!).

I haven't watched yet the original series which is the Taiwanese version (It Started with a Kiss). I'm going to watch it later or tomorrow so I can compare the difference between the two. The male lead on the Taiwanese version is gorgeous as well. Sigh!

Moral lesson of the story - "Love Conquers All" and “Try and fail, but don't fail to try.” It's a heart warming and inspirational story for people who doesn't believe in all the impossibles in life. Who would've thought that I'm starting to like the actor Kim Hyun Joong just by watching this series. I admit it, he has this charming smile that will make you swoon! Tsk! How come Korean actors nowdays can be so hunky and gorgeous? (my first crush will still be Jang Geun Suk though).

(look at that smile! it can really brighten up even a stormy day)

I'm still in Cloud 9 after watching this TV series. Too bad it doesn't have a second season like the Taiwanese version though I read on the internet that they have 7 episodes in YouTube for the Playful Kiss: Special Edition. I thought within the 16 episoded that Oh Ha Ni will be pregnant. Yeah, my imagination is getting ahead of me. I guess I will have to settle for the special episodes and hopefully (I'm crossing my fingers), they will start considering to have a Season 2.

(I like the role of Kim Hyun Joong in Playful Kiss compared to Boys Over Flowers)

Randy Ortiz for Bench

On the recently concluded Philippine Fashion Week last October, I was amazaed on how our clothing brands evolved into something chic even if it's a casual attire. I'm not really into clothing and fashion business but I know how to appreciate clothes when I see one. Being in 30s made me more mature in having my POVs when it comes to what's hot and what's not. Sometimes though there are get-ups that I can't understand or if I pictured myself on that dresss or clothes, I can't help but frown if I will gave the garments some justice. Hahahaha!

But right now I am having a strong feeling on this particular clothing. I have never wanted something so much before in my life when I saw this. It's like I've imprinted myself on the dress...

I so like and love this (is it a pairing of a shirt and a skirt?) donned by Kim Chiu. It's a creation of Randy Ortiz for Bench. I was awestruck! Kudos to Randy and Bench for this piece. See what happens when great minds collaborate?

In my perspective, this is definitely an investment. Why? You can use this dress for semi-formal to formal parties such as weddings. Yeah, I have a crystal clear picture of myself wearing this (daydream mode).

Now I'm itching to find out where I can buy the exact clothing and so far the lead that I have is the store  MYTH where Randy Ortiz is the creative director. It's located at 2/F Greenbelt 5. And just now, I found out that the ROB collection featured in Fashion Week will hit Bench Stores this month! Sweet! I need to check out the nearest branch in my place then.

Other clothes that caught my attention from ROB are:
I like this shirt for my husband and brother.

This shirt too!

Come to think of it....

Luckily I was never refused before when I asked for help. Probably because I know the people whom I can turn to in times of trouble. I'm grateful that I have good friends that stand by me through thick and thin. I'm happy to have relatives and a family I can lean on but if that day comes when someone or somebody refuses to help then I just have to think of this quote to remind me that I can do it or I can make a way to come through the storm. It will be my motivation to prove to other people that it's not the end of the world if they didn't help me. Judging my personality, I've always have ways and plans to make things work out for me.

Reminiscing After 4 years

I haven't started my work yet as I was busy checking updates on FB and my personal emails as well. Then I glanced on the calendar and it hit me. We've been married for 4 years! Kudos to us for getting here and let me tell you, it was never an easy ride especially for me. Things didn't turned out the way I want them to be. You know the feeling of having dreams that you want to achieve on your own and with your better half in life but somehow you're having difficulty reaching it. It's like you're in a slowmo to get to those dreams.

Sometimes it makes me sad or frustrated that I'm thinking ugly thoughts (just like earlier). How many times you should give second chances? To what extent you need to prolong your patience?

I didn't mean to be so negative especially on this day where it's supposed to be a "happy" occasion but just like before when we were planning our wedding, I have many "what ifs" and up to now I sometimes ask myself the same question. Actually I'm having mixed emotions at the moment.

Life indeed is a journey. I remembered the quote on Boys over Flowers where the hunky potter explained how a pot, cups or vases that he created never breaks easily. They have to go through a series of process - they all started as a clay being step, then he will mold them into something useful and exposing it to a hot temperature is the key in making it tough.

Same thing goes for me...or should I say for us. We are given trials, sometimes we feel that we are being stepped at or looked down by others but those experiences will mold us and shaped us into something we can be proud of and just when everything is falling into pieces, a huge obstacle or trial awaits us leaving us all burned out. After going through all of this we may not noticed it but we became stronger and tougher.

So let this scene in Boys over Flowers remind me of how tougher I become in this marriage from the lady who started planning her wedding. I think my husband started to be stonger too, I just need to give him a little push and encouraging words.

So to my husband of 4 years let's brave the storm together. I'm praying for guidance and strength for both of us. Life is good and I still want to enjoy them with you.

Happy Anniversary :)

Etude House's Pink Membership

I'm not a big fan of the color pink. I find it way too girly for my taste but that doesn't stop me from trying out some of Etude House's products.

My first and last purchase (for the time being) was last August and my total bill reached Php 1,010.00. Of course I didn't tell this piece of information to my husband as he wouldn't understand on what it's like to be a woman (he doesn't like the idea of me putting makeup on my face so I'm sure he will never get it at all).

After paying, the cashier handed me an application form and told me that I am eligible to get a free Pink Membership Card. Automatically you will get this card once you had a single receipt worth Php 500.00.

As a Pink Membership Card Holder, here are the things you need to know:

membership form and card

memebership card of etude house

Terms and Conditions
* Open to all (no age limit)
* Fill out the application form at any of the Etude House outlet.
* Get a FREE Pink Membership Card with a single receipt worth Php 500.
* Customers shall claim the Pink Membership Card where they applied (you can get the card immediately after submitting the filled out form).
* Pink Membership Card shall NOT be replaced when lost. All rebates earned in the lost card shall be considered forfeited. The member shall re-apply for a new card and begin anew.
* The company will not be held responsible for the lost cards and fraudulent use of the card.

Rebate System
* Present your Pink Membership Card to the cashier upon payment. No card, no rebate.
* To earn any rebate points, a customer must make a purchase of at least Php 100 in a single receipt.
* Purchase values will be rounded off to the nearest peso amount.
* No earning of rebate if Membership/ Rebate System is unavailable (this sucks!).

Rebate Conversion
* Cardholders get 2% rebate for a minimum purchase of Php100.
For example: for every Php 1,000 purchased, you get Php 20 rebate which you can use on your next purchase.

Expiry
* Pink Membership Card is valid for 3 years (thank goodness!).
* Rebates earned by a cardholder who do not renew will be forfeited.
* Cardholders that have no purchase for 1 year period will be cancelled and earned rebates will be forfeited (I still have 10 months to make a purchase again...hehehe).

For some, Etude House seems like a cosmetic shop for teenagers or young adults due to the color and the princess-like feel but their products can be used by all. Sandara Park is on her mid-twenties but she was made the endorser of this brand (is it obvious that I'm justifying my purchases?). If you love cosmetics, it doesn't hurt to try them :)

Etude House

I stumbled on this blog entry way way back (far too long that I forgot the exact month where I saved it on My Favorites). It presents the 4 Beauty Favorites of all time and their affordable counterparts. I got interested in Urban Decay Primer Potions's counterpart which is  Proof 10 Eye Primer from the Korean cosmetic company Etude House.

Of course I've been hearing this brand name for quite sometime since during my unemployed months, I was keeping myslef busy watching various Korean TV series in YouTube and DVDs. At that time, Park Shin Hye and Jang Geun Suk where the endorsers of Etude House (2009). Today their endorser is none other than Sandara Park which I read on the internet is considered as one of those Korean stars that has a beautiful face. They have a term in Korean in which that particular stars rose to fame because of their pretty faces. I just forgot what the term was.

Anyways, going back to this cosmetic I decided to check out the nearest branch which is in Festival Mall. Apart from purchasing the eye primer, I'm interested to buy their Silk Scarf (a hair treatment) which I also read on a blog that is effective and making the hair silky smooth and smelss good. After trying the hair treatment myself, the feedbacks are all accurate :)

My Etude House Haul

Etude House Cosmetics and their prices

My total purchase reached Php 1,1010! Thus they gave me a free item - Lip & Eye Remover. Apart from that I get to join or should I say a free Pink Membership Card since I made a purchase of more than Php 500 in a single receipt. I haven't made any purchases after this since I still have a stock. I'll probably drop by their store again when it's December so I can buy some stuff to be given as Christmas gifts.

I'll make another post about the Pink Membership Club of Etude House. It has the same concept as SM Advantage card so for girly teens and adults that are young at heart you might want to try Etude House.

Lemon Kiss Promo

I was reading through Daphne's blog and that's when I saw the brand Lemon Kiss. It's her new blog sponsor and I was in awe to see how pretty the dresses they have. What's more shocking is the price, it's really affordable and perfect for the holiday season as a gift or as a new getup for your little girls.

Lemon Kiss has an ongoing promo in their Facebook Page. Simply like their page and post "I want a Lemonkiss dress!" on this link.

Hurry! They are giving away 9 dresses for the lucky fans of their FB page :) I myself joined this contest. If ever that I'll be one of the lucky winners, I'm planning to give it to my niece or to one of my god daughters as a Christmas gift.

Halloween Project

I was busy and lazy at the same time so it's obvious that I don't have much updates. Honestly I have a lot of things that I want to post in this blog but I always end up putting it aside. Hopefully that changes in the coming days since I notice that my internet connection has improved. I wish that it stays the same until our lock-in period ends.

On a different note, we received a letter from the HOA of our village and just like last year they are organizing a Trick or Treat event for the kids. I need to prepare some goodies for the children and this time I was thinking of decorating our house so the kids will feel the Halloween spirit, not literally because that will scare the hell out of me first before them.

I found some easy DIY Halloween decors online so I just need to prepare and execute them one at a time before October 29 which is the date for Trick or Treat. Hopefully when I start setting things up outside our home, Poochie (our pet dog) will not mess with the decors. She'd better not.

That's it for now. I'll let you know the progress of my Halloween projects as soon as I start doing it and that means this weekend. Let's see if I can still be creative and artistic just like when I was a student.

A Filipina's Before Ever After

I've read a lot about the Filipina author Samantha Sotto who wrote this book. It was inspiring to hear her story on how she wrote a book which happens to be one of the best seller in NY by just passing the time while waiting for his son from school. Cool huh? I wish I can do the same but you know my writing is not that "deep" or can be taken as a serious literature so I'm just happy that I can blog whatever I want in this space which I owned.

Samantha Sotto
A Full-time Mom turned Internationally Published Writer

I'm not done reading the novel yet as I was busy doing my extra income work and household chores at the same time but as soon as I'm done creating this post, I will dig back and make a progress. By the way I bought it at Fully Booked for Php 499 and it's a hard bound. A sweet deal indeed! Originally, it was priced at Php 800+ but I think they lowered down the price as a treat for all of us Filipinos since our very own wrote the book. When I made a phone call in Fully Booked to check the availability they told me that they run out of stock so I have to make a reservation and wait for 2-3 weeks but it's worth the wait.

Before Ever After
This book will go side by side with Paolo Coelho and Sophie Kinsella in my shelf.

Belated HBD

It was my sister's birthday last Saturday. She's in KL Malaysia for work thus at around 3-4am of October 1st, I immediately made something (I was planning to digiscrap but scrape that idea since I don't have the Adobe PS installed on the laptop) simple but thoughtful (it's the thought that counts and I fervently believed that).

I posted this photo in her FB wall with a message, Sisters for Life! :

I think she appreciated this gesture and even made a comment that she loves this pic (it's probably the quote on the photo that bowled her...teehee). I suddenly miss her just by looking at this...I'll see her again in March for her vacation. Good thing that KL is near PH and I won't need a visa if I want to visit her next year. Yey!

Acquiring a NBI Clearance (Robinson Otis)

After posting the different location  for the NBI Clearance Centers, I decided to do a research on where to get a NBI clearance "conveniently". Most of you will probably rolled their eyes but guess what, I did get my NBI clearance within the day and it took me 2 hours (it's still a breeze compared to the other NBI locations and the horror stories I've been hearing).

I decided to apply in Robinson Otis. The mall is new and not all people knows the location of this mall. I think that's the reason why they are a few people going here.

I left our home (Bacoor Cavite) at 5:45am and arrived in Robinson Otis at 7am. To go there, take a LRT train going to Monumento and alight in UN Avenue station. For others, take a shuttle going to Lawton and alight in Kalaw then walk to UN Avenue. Those people coming from North, take a LRT going to Baclaran and alight in UN Avenue. Same thing if you're riding a jeepney, just asked the driver that your destination is UN Avenue. Look for a tricycle that is colored red or yellow and just tell them that you're going to Robinson Otis. You will also see some pedicabs near EAC but I have no idea if they can take you to Rob Otis. By the way, the fare for the tricycle is Php 10.

When I arrived in Rob Otis, there are people waiting outside. Obviously there purpose is to apply for a NBI clearance. I was 74 in the line and since NBI center inside the mall opens at 8am (weekdays), I have to wait for an hour which is okay with me despite the fact that I'm so hungry for skipping breakfast.

NBI clearance applicants waiting

By 8 am we are ushered to the 2nd level of the mall. There's a holding area where NBI provided 90 seats for the applicants. The rest have to wait standing at the back of the chairs so make sure to be in the first 90 if you want to have a seat. Every 10-15 mins, the line is progressing so you can still have a seat eventually.

@ the holding area

They will be distributing the application form while in the holding area and one staff will guide you on how to fill-up the forn so be attentive. You don't have to bring anything except for a pen, one valid ID and Php 115 for the payment. Old NBI clearance copies that you have is not needed since everybody is treated as first-time applicants.

NBI form

After waiting in the holding area, you will be ushered in the cashier to pay the NBI clearance application. Local Employment and Travel Abroad costs Php 115.00. After the payment, you will need to wait again for your turn for the manual encoding of the information in the system. No worries as there are seats provided. There are 2 staffs who does this and there's a monitor where you can see if the information encoded are accurate. After the encoding, next step is getting your fingerprints and photo. They are using biometrics system so goodbye to the old school blank ink for the fingerprints. After scanning your fingerprints, pose for a the ID photo and then submit your receipt to the Releasing section. There are a few seats provided in the Releasing area so I was standing while waiting for my name to be called. It took me around 10-15 minutes to wait and as the saying "Patience is a Virtue", I got my NBI clearance! :)

NBI Clearance Center in Rob Otis

Note: For NBI Clearance Center in Robinson's Malls, they are accepting 500 applicants per day so it will be best to be there early to secure a spot. In NBI Main Office (UN Ave. Taft), they are accepting 2,000 applicants but I'm not sure if there are seats provided like the one in Robinson Otis. I have no idea with regards to the number of applicants allowed per day for Ever Gotesco malls.

The Kennedys

As I was watching cable earlier, the Nat Geo channel keeps advertising the new mini series entitled The Kennedys in History channel that starts to be shown today at 9pm. I wanted to watch this unfortunately we don't have the History channel. It dampened my spirit.

In between the shows in Nat Geo, they are showring the production of this series. Ugh! What a way to torture me. They did well with the costumes. Just by looking at them it transported me back in time and I like Katie Holmes portraying Jackie's character. Indeed they have resemblance or it must be the clothes she's wearing for the series.

I know it's kinda late for me to post this but don't fret. It's a four-part series so you can still catch the remaining three parts. I on the other hand will have to settle to watch this on DVD instead. My patience will be put to test to wait for its DVD to be on sale (that means I have to wait till next year or more for that to happen).

On November

I will definitely NOT MISS this ever!

And in order to prepare myself for this movie, I am reading the book for the 3rd time...hehehe.

By hoor or by crook, I'm going to watch this in movie theatres like I always do when it comes to Twilight franchise movies. Watching it in DVD is a big NO, NO (I already told this numerous times to my husband).

Even my better half is pretty excited for this film. I influenced him reading the Twilight books and watching it in the big screen. I'll need to reserve myself and the husband a seat on it's first week. This reminds me that I actually signed up for the Ayala Cinemas reservation online. The only problem is I don't remember my username and password. Of all the things I have to forget...

HBD

I'm going to start my September entry on this blog by greeting my brother a Happy, happy Birthday!

As you can see he is a very private and shy person...lol...

My birthday message: I think there is a connection that brothers/sisters have with each other. Because of that, I feel like I got a little older on your birthday. Oh right, I am older since my birthday comes first before you. Enjoy your day and hope to see you more often next year :)

Update on NBI Clearance Application

Since there are peeps who happens to be reading my blog entry about the new process/system of getting an NBI clearance renewal let me share the first hand experience of a friend of mine. He recently applied for one and just hearing his story, I have no idea on what am I supposed to do (tactics) to get a clearance for myself.

You see, my friend personally experienced the long waiting hours in line just to have an NBI clearance. If only this piece of paper is not essential for finding/ starting a job then I won't fret about this.

According to him, he went to Robinson Galleria as early as 3am only to find out that there's a waiting line already. It took him 7 hours (omg!) to finish the process. A visible proof is the status on his FB where he is ranting about the loooong wait. You really need to be patient and have a cool and clear head going to Robinson's malls. Hmmm...I was wondering where and when will I have my NBI clearance renewed.

To sum it all up, you need to alot the whole day since according to the NBI (or those people operating the kiosk in Robinson malls) that they are limiting the applicants to 500 each day (whether renewal or new). I'm not sure if this is applicable to all the NBI renewal centers that I posted on my previous blog entry (check it here). If that's the case then apart from patience, you will need a lot of effort to get through the new NBI system.

Looking forward

...for my post birthday date tomorrow with hubby in Market Cafe in Hyatt. I'm after my free cake since I'm a member of their hotel.
...for the weekend as I want to have good and long hours of sleep.
...for another post birthday celebration with my highschool friends on Monday. I'm up for another lunch buffet. Good thing that I'm well disciplined to exercise unlike before.
...for our Coron trip with my former colleagues! 3D and 2N in Palawan far from all the stress and things that I don't want to worry about.

Just thinking about these perks me up!

Seriously?

There was an email query in one of the yahoogroups where I belong that caught my attention. It has something to do with school tuition fees for private and exclusive schools. I was stunned to learn how pricey the schools are now compared before.

For exclusive girls school, the range is 75k to 95k (nursery, prep, kinder and elementary). I assumed that the figure applies for exclusive boys school as well. Gosh! What more if I have my own child and I'm going to send her/ him to school. Most likely the tuition fees by then would be in hundred thousands!

I guess I will settle for private schools. Currently my youngest sister is studying in a Catholic private school in Las Pinas and her tuition fee is Php 36k all-in. My brother on the other hand has a cheaper tuition fee since he studies in Dasmarinas, Cavite but I'm bracing myself for his college next year. This school year college tuition fees ranfes from 35k-200k depending on the school's name. I didn't include the state universities and colleges since they are relatively cheaper. I'm hoping that my brother will kept his promise of giving me good grades for his senior year. Yeah, I'm strict when it comes to grades. As much as possible I don't like seeing 80-84 in his report card.

E-Cigarette

I first came to know such a thing exist when I watched the movie, The Tourist starring Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. Immediately I remembered my father, he is a chain smoker. He was hospitalized before due to his excessive smoking causing his heart to palpitate and he easily gets tired. Since this "discovery" is all new to me, I made a research and checked the e-cigarettes available in the market. Good thing that I stumbled on a site that has the detailed cigarette comparisons that I needed.

Turns out that there are three types of electronic cigarettes. The disposable, e-cigarettes with cartomizer (2 piece) and the Three-piece-kit. For first-timers it is advisable to use the disposable as to get the "feel" of using one. For those who want to try different flavors, the one with cartomizer is the best option as you will need to change the nicotine cartridge depending on the flavor you like. The 3-piece kit is for those who want to quit smoking completely. This is ideal for my father but before he can used this type of cigarette, I guess it's better if I will introduce him to the disposable so he will be familiar with it and eventually get use to it. Based on the reviews, V2Cigs stands out with a 9.7 rating simply because they offer a wide range of electronic cigarette starter kits for male and female alike.

Good thing that such invention like this are helpful to everyone concern. Hopefully by 2020 majority of the population in the world are using e-cigarettes versus the regular cigarette we came to know.

Travel Destination for 2012???

I was looking forward going here to visit my sister....

But there's an offer by a friend of mine that we should go here instead...

And now I'm torn! I don't have the luxury to go to both places and can only afford one trip/ travel per year (I'm thinking about the future and investments). I will need to choose one and what will that be? I have no idea....

Post Bday Celebration

Last Saturday my former colleagues in WNS decided to visit me in our home here in Cavite. We are having my post birthday celebration.

They arrived at 8pm and we started to get the party (eating and drinking) started at about 10pm since one of them is late (he was caught up in the traffic + he got lost on his way to our place). Oh, we also did some grocery shopping in SM Hypermarket for the drinks and the junk foods.

cheers!
Cheers! They are my extended family for keeps :)

Grilled Mussels with Butter.
Cooked by Art. They say it's delicious. I have no idea what it tastes like since I'm not used to eating Mussels and Oysters. Yeah, I'm very picky when it comes to seafood.

Thank you guys for making a huge effort to come all the way from Manila to my place. It was a sweet gesture and I'm happy to be a part of our family (WNS). So should we do it again next year?

At 31

Sorry if I don't have recent updates for the few past days. Apart from celebrating my birthday, I was busy with the interviews that were lined up from different companies that I applied to.

Anyways, let me share what happened on my birthday (August 5). I spent it outside our home with my friends.

I woke up early in the morning since I will be meeting my ex-colleagues and have breakfast with them. Apart from me, I also have a friend whom I shared the same birth date so it was a double celebration.

august 5 - I'm 31 :)
Sun is peeking marking the start of a new day

heavy breakfast to start my day!

cake from Dulcinea...thanks Aimee :)
cake for Rona and me from Aimee...so sweet! Thanks girl!

I don't have the other photos yet. One of my buddies brought her SLR camera to capture the "moments" on my birthday. But right after spending my time in Libis (it was actually past 12 or 1pm then), me and my friend Jazz went to Makati to meet 3 more friends. We just drop by their offices.

There are a couple of more celebrations for me with my other group of friends. I still have the whole month of August to do it. And oh! I haven't got to celebrate my birthday with hubby alone. Well I already have something in mind.

It was a good day indeed and the weather cooperated. It's exhausting but I'm happy. Apart from Christmas, my birthday is something that I'm looking forward to regardless that I'm getting older.
