10 Things on Your "To-Do" List

For this week's Ten on Tuesday...

This is very timely as I have a lot of things to accomplish for this year... Here are some of them:

1. Warts Removal
2. Selecting and editing pictures for our wedding album (yeah I know...it's been a year and half and we still don't have one)
3. Preparing the materials needed for our wedding video (so lazy of us)
4. Passport Renewal
5. Securing myself an ID of SSS (I've been working for 8 years and I still don't have one...bad me)
6. Vote Registration =D
7. My long overdue wedding crosstitch (sigh!)
8. Preparing my brother's tuition fee for the coming school year
9. Availing a Globe postpaid line
10. Learning Photoshop CS2 and digi-scrapping

I have 9 months to do all of these things... Goodluck to me Ü

Where Should I Be?

San Francisco
You have a hippy side to you, and you should be living in San Francisco!
You are a very open, accepting person who wants to be around other cultured but laid back people just like you.
You also enjoy a temperate climate where it never gets too hot.
Come to San Francisco!

Unbelievable

Who would've thought that I'll be able to get online at this time... To be exact it's 9:50pm and I'm with hubby in an internet cafe near our home.

His busy reading the Naruto Manga while I'm checking my Facebook, Fiendster, emails and Multiply. But we will not be here for long. We decided to rent for an hour as we have a lot of things to do tomorrow like going to Medical City for a checkup. After which will be going to Dasma Cavite for my brother's recognition event on Wednesday.

Earlier I was in Godiva Skin Care Station in Bel-air and had my facial and DP. According to Lyn (the one who handled me) I have 10 warts on my face! Dang! After 2 years of having a warts-free face I have to deal with them again. Sigh!

I'm getting sleepy and Hubby decided to play one game of DOTA. Grrrrr! I told him that we will just be here for 15 minutes more.

Interracial

It's fun to get to know other people especially other races. You learned a lot from their cultures and vice versa.

I once had a Taiwanese classmate in college. They are actually two of them. A lot of times my friend Criz will talk to them (she's the only one who had guts to babble different things with them) and they will teach us basic words in Mandarin. And I will never forget the time that they told us their country's national animal. It's none other than a Panda! Cute!

I might as well try the Interracial Chat Rooms on Tuesday and see if there are other nationalities that I can talk to. Maybe I can ask them what is their national animals too Ü

My Hidden Talent

Your Hidden Talent is Your Quick Wit

You are a great communicator. You have a real way with words.

You're never at a loss to explain what you mean or how you feel.

People find it easy to empathize with you, no matter what your situation.

When you're up, you make everyone happy. But when you're down, everyone suffers.

What's Your Hidden Talent?

Am I really a good communicator??? Hmmm.... If it's with hubby, yeah! I have a real way with words especially if his trying to get his way out of reasoning with me...ahahaha!

Sneaking

I'm here at an internet cafe near our home. I'm itching to get online since it's been a week when I last updated my Facebook, Multiply and Friendster accts. I have a lot of catching up to do! Hehehehe.

Hubby is sleeping right now so I left him at home for more than an hour (already). Hopefully he won't woke up anytime soon as I have to cook his lunch.

I was hoping that the PC here will have a USB access. The one I'm in now has 2 USB ports but the problem is they don't recognize my memory stick. Dang!

Speak Up

Freedom of Speech is the freedom to speak freely without censorship or limitation. That's why everyone of us should enjoy this privilege and use it in a rightful manner which means not hurting anyone with our words or bearing false witness.

So, let's enjoy this freedom by checking out the questions and answering them based on your own opinions:

Make Babies

An officemate shared me the link of Make Me Babies where you can see the "supposedly" face(s) of your future child/children. This is the result of extreme boredom in the office...hehehe.

You can even pair up with your fave stars if your that too curious (like me) to know how your child will look like. That's not a bad idea, it's ok to dream ;)

Here's the photos of our future children (Randiej and Me):

(Girl)

(Boy)

What do you think about my little new baby R?
MakeMeBabies.com - What will your baby look like?

It's weird that the boy and girl looks almost the same...hehehe.

Now, for my craziest idea ever. Pairing up myself with my ultimate crush...none other than Brad Pitt! Check out the face of "our" baby boy:

In fairness, the baby looks adorable! He can be a child star here in Manila. Too bad Brad has Angelina and I have Randiej...ahahahaha!

Pamper and Health

I've been wanting to try their facial treatment and diamond peel since....last year, I think?!

Anyways, good thing they have a summer promo and I decided to avail the facial express + diamond peel which is worth Php 700 only!

I called their Godiva Skin Care Station in Bel-Air to set an appointment for tomorrow. I was surprised to know that they are fully booked on Saturday and Sunday. I have no other choice but to book myself after office hours on Monday. Good thing I will be on leave on Tuesday and Wednesday Ü

Finally another "ME" time! (The first one was when I have my hair cut, colored and treated...I consider it as a ME time since I've been wanting to have a new do since January).

I almost forgot, I have to accomplish the warts removal until April. Have to consult an accredited Dermatologist of Intellicare or better yet, go directly to their clinic in Salcedo St. Makati.

As for hubby, we will be going on Tuesday in Makati Med for a check-up on his bump at the back (we will be seeking a surgeon). Then if we still have time, another check-up to a Urologist just to make sure that his kidneys are A-ok (hopefully no more kidney stone on the loose).

Jewish

Names like Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, Kate Hudson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Daniel Radcliffe and Shia LaBeouf. What they all have in common? All of them are Jewish descent Ü

I have nothing against any race that's why it's still a puzzle to me why the Nazis were so ticked of Jewish. Guess I'm not much into world history.

Anyways it will be cool to have a chat with these Hollywood stars on Jewish Chat Rooms since it's free to sign-up. I would really love to have a chat with any of them especially Shia since he was raised by his parents in the Jewish religion. He celebrates Christmas and Hanukkah (Festival of Lights). Interesting isn't it?

H2O Filter

Every summer one of the things that are essential to our daily lives is water. Since the temperature is getting warmer as April and May approach, more people refresh themselves from the heat thus water consumption is maximized during these months.

This is also the time where water-born diseases are rampant due to the fact that most households are not using water filters at their homes. Though the water that comes out in our faucet went through the process of filtration it's not an assurance that the water that we have is safe. Remember, prevention is better than cure so why not install reliable filters like an undersink water filter. It's not visible to the guests who will be coming over to your house plus it removes much of the contaminants present in a tap water. Make sure that the installation of the filter system is in accordance to the standards stated by law.

I'd rather splurge to have clean and safe water at home rather than sacrificing our health.

Life is Short

Life is short ...
kiss passionately, love truly
laugh constantly
And never stop smiling
no matter how strange life is
Life is not always the party we expected to be
but as long as we are here, we should smile and be grateful.

Read the story and be touched... It will make you realize how life can be beautiful despite the trials and pains...

The girl in the picture is Katie Kirkpatrick, she is 21. Next to her, her fiancé, Nick, 23.
The picture was taken shortly before their wedding ceremony, held on January 11, 2005 in the US .
Katie has terminal cancer and spend hours a day receiving medication.
In the picture, Nick is waiting for her on one of the many sessions of Chemo to end.
In spite of all the pain, organ failures, and morphine shots, Katie is going along with her wedding and took care of every detail. The dress had to be adjusted a few times due to her constant weight loss.

An unusual accessory at the wedding was the oxygen tube that Katie used throughout the ceremony and reception as well.
The other couple in the picture is Nick's parents. Excited to see there son marrying his high school sweetheart.

Katie, in her wheelchair with the oxygen tube, listening a song from her husband and friends.

At the reception, Katie had to take a few rest breaks. The pain wouldn't allow her to stand up for long periods

Katie died five days after her wedding day. Watching a woman so ill and weak getting married and with a smile on her face makes us think..... Happiness is reachable, no matter how long it lasts. We should stop making our lives complicated.

Travelling Poland

When it's Lenten Season, a lot of people especially Catholics avail the tourist package of going to Jerusalem and Nazareth. We all know that these places have a memorable significant to us Christians since this is where Jesus lived and spent most of his life as a man.Apart from that, Poland where the late John Paul II was born and raised became a tourist attraction as well. If I'm not mistaken, some cardinals and bishops might have tried the Auschwitz tours by the Catholics who came to know more about the country where the famous and loved Pope spent his early life as a common man. Good thing that they offer hotel accommodation plus land/air transfer as one package. I wonder how much it will cost me if I decided to go there someday (wishful thinking).

wa-wa-wa-W@W (part 3)

(last part.....promise!)

Apart from the the much awaited Supplier of the Year 2008 announcement, some of the highlights for that night was the Star of the Night Awardee for a male and female supplier and W@Wie couple. Since Jenki and I are not a W@Wie anymore, definitely we are not qualified. Then on our table, there are 2 W@Wie couples whom Jenki made friends to last January namely JJ ni Gina and Erwin ni Odeng . I decided to vote JJ and Gina since they love to have the iPod. I think Jenki voted them as well. For the male supplier I voted Jayson Arquiza and for female was EJ Belen Litiatco (can't think of any at that time).

The winners were: Jason Magbanua (Male Supplier) and ??? -> forgot the name of the Female Supplier who won...sorry...

W@Wie couple: JJ and Gina (Surprise!) Not even sure who are the other people who voted for them but Benz says they're names are the ones coming up on the paper ;)

The winners got a big Teddy Bear and an iPod. JJ and Gina were stunned when they got back to our table. I heard JJ telling Gina that she can have the teddy bear while he will be the keeper of the iPod. Hehehehe.

On with the party details, Bob Nicolas created videos for the presentation for the Supplier of the Year. I was rooting for Jayson Arquiza since his so good in taking pictures and a lot of W@Wie couples loved her. But to my surprise, it was none other than Cecilio Abad! He was crying when his name was announced and the crew of Teddy Manuel came to his table and hugged him since his the one who made their corsets for their dance number. Definitely his overwhelmed and happy. In fairness to the suppliers who made it to the Top 5, they definitely deserve the award. If only all of them can take home the award.
Congrats Cecilio Abad!

Just as we thought that the program is over, we have a special guest that really caught Hubby's attention. Nope, it's not a sexy actress but it's the Kamikazee band! Randiej didn't like the lyrics of their songs but his eyes got entertained by the band's front man Jay Contreras. He was telling jokes and dancing around while singing. He loves to move a lot on the stage. For audience impact, it's 101% hands down.
The band played 5 songs and I thought they were the only ones who were there in the party. Turned out that Jay's wife, son and MIL are there too! They tried one photobooth and then Jay got busy with some of the male guests asking him for a photo souvenir from one photobooth to another. I can saw Sarah checking out the photos on the W@Wies wall together with their son. Her mother is right beside her. Awww! I bet that Sarah might have checked weddingsatwork during her wedding preps ;)

Jenki, Randiej and I were waiting for our transpo so we decided to have one more picture taken by the "Roaming Photographer" as I labeled him. You can easily recognize him since he has two small printers at his back (I called them mini washing machines...hehehe). Here's the photo:

This photo is Jenki's concept

I did enjoy myself that night...food, photobooths, AVPS, special numbers, Kamikazee and the giveaway(s) to commemorate the event. Aside from the dessert buffet from Joy San Gabriel (they were all so yummy!) they also have a cake buffet for all the guests that evening. We manage to take home a mini cake from Sugar Box, a cupcake from Judy Uson and a huge slice of Virginia cake (thanks to Jenki for getting our share).

We arrived in our apartment at 1:30am and before I went to bed, I took a quick snap of all the stuff that I got from the W@W party:

(lots of photobooth printouts...I didn't include the umbrella that we got as a prize for being an early bird...the umbrella has the printed website of Paul Vincent)

(Giveaway - Silver Commemorative Coin)

That sums up my story for last Friday's event.

Let's see if we can make it to this year's W@W Christmas Party =)

wa-wa-wa-W@W (part 2)

(continuation....)

At 6 pm Jenki, me and Randiej went to the restroom to dress up for the event. Good thing that Clarice and her team closed down the Fernbrook grounds and have it off-limits from the couples. Otherwise, the restrooms will be jam packed...hehehe.

7pm the program is supposed to start but there are only a few guests at that time so for the meantime, cocktail is officially opened. We didn't lounge for long on the cocktail tables instead we invaded the photobooths. They were 7 photobooths and one of them is owned by Jayson Arquiza (Smiles Photobooth) ;)
Some of the soft copy is not yet up on the respective websites of the other photobooths that's why I only have 2 of them. Jenki is obviously enjoying making faces and acting up on the camera.

8pm program as Ash Ungson and Missy Ferrer grace the stage as the hosts for the evening. Dinner buffet was opened for the guests and suppliers. Afterwhich, the Top 10 Supplier for the Year 2008 were introduced through the video that was shown last January in W@W Videofest. Kudos to Jason Magbanua! They were given trophies by Benz and John together with Kite.Then the Top 10 was trimmed down to Top 5. They wereJayson Arquiza, Threelogy , Atty. Raymond Fortun, Josiah's Catering and Cecilio Abad.

Presentation by Teddy Manuel and his troops was awesome! I didn't recognize Teddy with the hair extensions and the make-up. Check out the photo below and guess where Teddy Manuel is....hehehe.

Us at Table 9...
(L-R) JJ, Gina, Odeng, Erwin, Jenki, me and Randiej

After the Single Ladies performance of teddy manuel and crew, the W@W Gall of Famers were given recognition and throphies. The Hall of Famers were the Supplier of the Year from 2002-2207 - Alex Franco, Jason Magbanua, Veluz, Paul Vincent and Mimi+Karl

Another group presentation came from representatives of the Philippine Association of Wedding Planners . The guy who portrayed the bride is funny..

looks familiar? Ü

After their performance the members of the PAWP gave a recognition to Benz and John for creating Weddings at Work website. Wooohooo!

(to be continued...)

wa-wa-wa-W@W (part 1)

I know that this entry is a little late (3 days to be exact) but I'm having trouble on where to begin...

Let's see... I'm going to make this the first part of my story when hubby and I attended the 10th Anniversary Party of W@W. As much as I wanted to make it brief, I just simply can't...hehehe.

Randiej and I volunteered to help Jenki with the wall of W@Wies/N@Wies and good thing we did! Jenki needed a help since her throat operation is not totally healed. So me and hubby are her guardian angels for that day ;)

Last Friday at around 10:30 am we meet-up in The Fort Strip so we can go together in Fernbrook Gardens. It's our first time going in Fernbrook and we're surprised that it's a little bit far. Good thing Jenki has a transpo. We arrived at the place at 11am. Clarice team and other suppliers are pretty busy.

Here are some photos taken during the preparation for the party (click the photos to enlarge)...
It was hot since the dome is not completely covered. Instead, it was a transparent plastic so the heat of the sun is passing through it. I can just imagine how the suppliers exceeded effort and patience in preparing the event.

Display of gowns are already set-up when we arrived...

With the help of Ronald (Balay Kandila) and his staff we were able to setup the photos of w@wies and n@wies alike and made into two sets of walls for everyone to see...

I think we were done by 1pm so Clarice asked us to have our lunch in the crew meal tent (yeah, we were considered as a supplier...hehehe). At the same time, afternoon prenup is ongoing. There were few couples who arrived on the place, hopping from one photographer to another. After lunch, we went down to the pond where the Fernbrook office is located to cool down.

It was really hot that day and we just need a place who can provide us a shelter from the sun's rays. After some time, Jenki got dizzy (who wouldn't with that kind of heat) so she asked one of the guards in the office if we can stay there for her to rest. Good thing the office staff are friendly and accommodating. They let us in the office where it's air conditioned and have plush sofa...hehehe. They even gave us a cold iced tea to drink. Aaahhh.. Refreshing. We stayed in the office until 4pm when the sun's heat is not harmful anymore.

More couples arrived for the free pre-nup. Some even brought props and 2 sets of clothes for the pictorial. I was surprised to see the baby girl of Clarice in Fernbrook. She was behave and I never heard her cry. Also, she's used to seeing a lotof people that when you approach and play with her, she will smile at you not like the other babies who will cry since they didn't know you. Too bad I didn't grab Jenki's picture of Gia with her mom Clarice.

At 5pm, Clarice and her crew asked the couples to leave the Fernboork grounds since they will be closing it in preparation for the party. Luckily Clarice considered as a supplier so we stay put on the vicinity. Time to dress up!

(to be continued....)

Let's Talk Heavy

A couple of weeks ago in Tyra Show, they featured about the "Fat Families" were the guests are overweight women encouraged by their loved ones to embrace their obesity. Some of their spouses even "feed" them more not minding the extra pounds that will be added to their bodies.

My guess is some guys dig the BBW Chat Rooms where beautiful women come in big packages. It's good to know that some guys are not into slim/sexy ladies like most of them are used to.

This is a funny story shared by my sister through email... Hope you'll like it

~~~~~~
A man and woman had been married for more than 60 years. They had shared everything. They had talked about everything. They had kept no secrets from each other except that the little old woman had a shoe box in the top of her closet that she had cautioned her husband never to open or ask her about.For all of these years, he had never thought about the box, but one day the little old woman got very sick and the doctor said she would not recover. In trying to sort out their affairs, the little old man took down the shoe box and took it to his wife’s bedside.
She agreed that it was time that he should know what was in the box. When he opened it, he found two crocheted dolls and a stack of money totaling $95,000.
He asked her about the contents. ‘When we were to be married,’ she said, ‘ my grandmother told me the secret of a happy marriage was to never argue. She told me that if I ever got angry with you, I should just keep quiet and crochet a doll.’The little old man was so moved; he had to fight back tears. Only two precious dolls were in the box. She had only been angry with him two times in all those years of living and loving. He almost burst with happiness.
‘Love,’ he said, ‘that explains the doll, but what about all of this money? Where did it come from?’
‘Oh,’ she said, ‘that’s the money I made from selling the dolls.’
