While the Northern America celebrates today the Thanksgiving, here in Manila we are celebrating the National Day of Mourning for those massacre victims in Maguindanao.
Being the democratic that we are who would've thought that some provinces in the country are being ruled by guns, arm men and political power.
I was saddened to hear the story and watched the footage shown in the news everyday about this tragedy. Even the innocent civilians who have nothing to do with politics and rivalry drama of the two families will be caught in this incident. Media men were slayed whose work is to bring news to the people. 57 deaths in one day is not normal.
As the Americans give thanks to all the blessings and the year that had passed in their lives, we on the other hand are praying and hoping for justice be served for the victims.
