First Time

That is to cook Adobo! For those who haven't heard of it it's a popular Philippine dish of marinated meat (pork or chicken) or fish seasoned with garlic, soy sauce, vinegar, and spices.

I decided to try my hands on cooking "Chicken Adobo" last Saturday and I was sort of nervous. As usual I have my recipe in hand and follow the instructions.

My only mistake was I put too much water ( 2 cups) together with the soy sauce and vinegar. It looks like a stew =P
So, I remove some of the water then add cornstarch dissolved in water to thicken the sauce. Then I added sugar to taste. I was thinking of adding pineapple chunks but will probably do that next time.

I called Hubby for our dinner and first he looked at my cooked adobo then smell it. It smelled good since I added bay leaves. Then he tasted it together with rice and told me that it was good :)

Not bad for a starter eh?! Next time I will cook Pork Adobo. Either I will lessen the water or never put a water at all. Then I'll add pineapple chunks for flavor ;)
