Women and Clothes

Have you ever been in a situation wherein you're having trouble or being doubtful when your purchasing clothes online especially if you're a first-timer? I feel the same way before since my worry is the fit of the clothing when I received them.

But right now, a lot of online shops especially for
Women's Clothing have provided a measuring guide for the clothes in order for them to get the right size for the apparel that they want especially for Plus Sizes and Petite ones. Aside from that, shops even categorized the clothing that women wear. After all, females love to shop and clothes are one of the few things that they are so keen about. A Woman's Wardrobe should have a lot of varieties of clothes for casual and formal occasions.

This reminds me, I should make it a habit to do an inventory of my clothes. I'm planning to give my unused clothes for charity but I have to sort and wash them first Ü

Sheesh! I'm being an OC again in planning our 1st wedding anniversary celebration.

As you all remember I was thinking of going to Subic specifically in Grande Island for an overnight stay but then I decided to have a dinner instead in Spiral restaurant in Sofitel (since I avail their membership which is good for a year).

But now as I'm contemplating hard on the two plans that I had, I really like the idea of an out-of-town trip. I'm excited to go outside of the city and explore places. Whereas having a dinner in Spiral, I can always do that in the next 12 months being a member.

Arrrghhh! What to do?! Help me fellow bloggers. What's your POV on my dilemma? Cast your votes below:

Thanks in advance! Ü

Coffee Break Ver 1.38

I really needed a break! Good thing that Jan finally posted a topic to talk about for this week :)

Since my work involves sourcing for IT professionals, I've encountered a lot of different names everyday but most of them are either Indians or US Citizens. Nevertheless, I also have a few local names that can contribute. Actually, most of it will be local names because of my colleagues who are working for local market.

Thanks to Oieyds for giving me names that are sort of "unusual" so to speak:

Marlon Arinola
Paulo Root III
Ronnie Palicpic
Mae Anne Luya
Perlito Palay
Richie Boyboy
Melchedick Pison
Ramon Tabo
Chalk Bareng
Robert Dickens
Keeth Lee Krider
Kissinger Reyes
Jusielyn Quirap
Allan Kilayko

Basing from their first names, you will know how creative parents can be when they are naming their child/children. Surnames however reflect their family's origin especially here in the Philippines where there are lots of mixed races. You can easily distinguish which one has a foreign blood and which are a true native Filipinos.

Happy Birthday Len

Tomorrow I will not have access to the internet so might as well make an "advance" blog entry for my sister! Her bday is tomorrow (Oct 1st) and just like my other siblings whom I greeted in my blog, I want to give her a special spot here as well Ü

Most people mistook her as my "Ate" (older sister) since she looks physically mature than me. She's even taller than me but that's ok. At least I'm space efficient...ahahaha!

She has a stronger personality than me. My other siblings fear her more when she gets angry compared to me... hehehe.

When we were still in grade school, people thought that we were twins. I'm not even sure why. Probably because of the clothes we wear which is the same in style and design. The only difference is the color.

To my sister who I can rely on always, I couldn't ask for any other sisters in the world. Having you is enough and I know you will be an ally for keeps Ü

See you tomorrow! Happy 26th and as I always say "Enjoy life and live it to the fullest!". XOXO

Let there be LAMP

It's my ultimate dream and goal to have a house. Even when I was still single, I always wanted to have a place of our own. Up to now I'm still holding to that dream. It's one of the few things that motivate me to work hard.

A few years back, I will always buy my own copy of home improvement magazines or visit websites. I'm so fascinated with the idea of dressing up your very own crib and decorate it the way you want.

Aside from furniture and electronic appliances, accessories like lamps should not be taken for granted. For sure, in every bedroom there will be table lamps. Then for the living room area, I was choosing between a torchieres or a floor lamps. The first one is Greek-inspired while the latter is more of a Victorian.

Here I go again, daydreaming so early in the morning....hehehe.

Our Kids Names

Tagged by Meng Ü

OUR KID’S NAMES: List all of your kids’ names, or even just one. Its up to you. Write down the story or the reason why you chose it. If you’re expecting or planning to have more kids and already have a name for them….list them down too.

Child’s Name: Elise Gabrielle (2 years and 4 months)

Children’s Names: Castle Keith (4 years old), Constantine Keith (1 year and 10 months) and Corvinus Keith (5 months)

Long before we had kids, the husband and I have already laid down our namings rules. All the boys’ first names would start with “C” and would have “Keith” for their second names, so their initials would just like their dad’s - CK. On the other hand, All the girls would have “Lynn” as their second names, in tradition with the naming standard of the husband’s family.
It was tough deciding what that “C” would be, but we finally went with Castle (Sikei), Constantine (Issen), and Corvinus (Kobe).

We were planning to name our princess, if ever we are blessed with another bundle of joy (PLEASE God, not in the near future, PLEASE! ), GABRIELLE LYNN. Unfortunately, one of our close friends already named his daughter Gabrielle. It’s fine, though, because our very-close-second choice is VALERIE LYNN, after the husband’s late mom, Valera Lynn.

I don't have a child yet but I have one name ready if it's a girl...hehehe. She will be named Reejane and I'm still looking for a second name which will look like this - REEJANE ____ VILORIA

I haven't come up with a boy's name yet. I want it to be different just like the name Reejane. Oh well, I still have a lot of time to think about it...hehehe.

I've been busy the whole day so I'm sorry to my fellow bloggers If I could not make the tags for today. I'll do it first thing on Monday ;)

I'm in a rush to write this entry. In a few minutes, it's time for me to leave and enjoy the weekend!

I just want to share this before I signed out...

A few minutes ago, I got a call from a Sofitel agent. She told me that I was referred by a friend and she was introducing me the packages and offers of Sofitel. They have the membership which is Php 7,100 and the Supplementary which is Php 4,355. The difference between the two is on the first one, you will get a free overnight stay in Sofitel. The perks are both the same. You will get 50% discount in Spiral's buffet (breakfast, lunch, dinner) for the whole year; 10% discount in pulished room rates; A "member-for-a-day" certificate (which is transferrable) which entitles the bearer for a 50% discount in Spiral (2 persons) and 15% discount in room rates, etc. (I forgot the other privileges that comes with the package).

To make the long story short, I decided to avail the supplementary card of Sofitel! I know it was a good deal since you can used the card all year round and avail the discounts. I just wished that I get the 7,100 membership card instead since there's one night free accomodation. I have no idea earlier that the rooms in Sofitel are pricey until just now...hehehehe.

My plan for an overnight stay in Subic is cancelled. Me and hubby will be spending our wedding anniversary in Spiral instead. It's a buffet so I'm sure both of us will enjoy it! Aside from that fact that Hubby told me last night that his not up to an out-of-town trip so might as well go for the buffet :)

I will post the full details of the perks when I received my package. According to my agent, I will receive it on the next 12 business days.

Credit Card 101

I've posted a lot of information regarding credit cards and I always make it a point to remind anyone to do a research and read Credit card articles before getting one. It's better for a person to educate himself/herself on how the card works and familiarizing with the terms and meaning of different words that you can only see in the "financing world".

I had a friend who is a first-timer to use one who got tempted to "practice" its powers....hehehe. Right now his having an issue keeping up with the payments and swore that he will never use it again. His even asking me if he can call the bank and have it closed which is impossible if you didn’t pay the entire amount that you’ve accumulated. If I’m not mistaken, his on the verge of his credit limit for a span of four to five months of owning his first credit card. His mistake is spending away using his credit card and paying only the minimum amount due.

It will be hard for a clueless person to indulge into credit card without having an idea on how it will affect one's finances. Credit cards can either make or break you. It all depends on how well you balance your expenses and of course discipline.

Coffee Break Ver 1.37

I still can't make up my mind if I will push through the Grande Island trip or not. Sigh!

For the meantime, I'll answer the coffee break for the week. This will give me a few moments to stop stressing out with the first wedding anniversary plan. I'm the planner between the two of us so obviously, hubby has no idea about it.

Anyways back on Jan's question, my two cents here is...
I think that LEADERS are BORN. If you have the traits of a leader and you want to be a leader then you will be one. You can easily point or assign someone to be a leader but deep inside them they don't like it or they don't have a feel to be one. Or worst, they don't have the traits of a "good leader". Sooner or later, that "leader" will either be demoted or replaced by a new one.

For example in a company, you have a manager who was appointed to manage over a team. As a subordinate, you will know if he/she is cut to lead or not. On my own experience, our manager was not the ideal one. After working with her for 8 months I relaizeed that she's missing a LOT of qualities to be a manager. Apart from me, there were others who had the same thought as mine who eventually resigned because of her...hehehe.

There are times that I want to take the lead especially if I'm up for the responsibility but other times I just want to take the backseat. As what Jan said, a lot of expectations are thrown when your a leader. You have to give your 101% best and meet what is expected of you.

To do or Not to do

I'm still debating in my head if I will avail the Promo B of Grande Island in Subic. It was a good deal and it's perfect for our first year wedding anniversary which will be in 34 days! Their offer is good until October 31 of this year.

I was searching the net since this morning for reviews about the place and most of them are not positive. I was wondering if it has something to do with the fact that they went there during the peak season that's why the place is not that appealing...I'm not sure.

I like the massage, the AVT and banana boat ride that comes with their package which is good for 2 persons apart from the overnight stay and free breakfast for 2. Not to mention that I'm on a budget. If I only have extra moolah (which I do but it will be for our home expenses) then I will probably book us a flight going to Boracay or Palawan for a change of scenery and experience.

My friend here in the office says that I might as well try it and see for myself. She reasoned out that people have different tastes which I agree. So why I'm still having a hard time to decide?!

Ramadan Holiday

I just read an email sent by our HR manager. Turns out that October 1st is declared as a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid'l Fitr (Feast of Ramadan) under Proclamation No. 1625 by GMA.

Lucky for my sister that her birthday falls on a non-working day. I'm thinking of things that I can do on that day. It's Wednesday so I guess I'll probably stay at home. This could mean a DVD marathon for hubby and me! Ü

Christian Lifestyle

There is a lot of chat websites designed for different groups of people - Latin, Americans, Seniors, etc. Well, for Christians they do have one as well! You can meet Christian Women /Men when you sign-up in their chat room. Search engine is provided if you're looking for someone that is near your place which you can meet personally (if you want to).

If you're not looking for a romantic relationship, you can still register with them to broaden your circle of friends.

Who says internet is for the business and professionals? Even religious people can use it as a tool to socialize :)

First Time

That is to cook Adobo! For those who haven't heard of it it's a popular Philippine dish of marinated meat (pork or chicken) or fish seasoned with garlic, soy sauce, vinegar, and spices.

I decided to try my hands on cooking "Chicken Adobo" last Saturday and I was sort of nervous. As usual I have my recipe in hand and follow the instructions.

My only mistake was I put too much water ( 2 cups) together with the soy sauce and vinegar. It looks like a stew =P
So, I remove some of the water then add cornstarch dissolved in water to thicken the sauce. Then I added sugar to taste. I was thinking of adding pineapple chunks but will probably do that next time.

I called Hubby for our dinner and first he looked at my cooked adobo then smell it. It smelled good since I added bay leaves. Then he tasted it together with rice and told me that it was good :)

Not bad for a starter eh?! Next time I will cook Pork Adobo. Either I will lessen the water or never put a water at all. Then I'll add pineapple chunks for flavor ;)

That means "good morning" in Japanese. Why the sudden interest in Nihonggo?

Yesterday, hubby finally decided to continue with his application for Japan. Their office is located in Ortigas. He was scheduled for an interview at 9am with a technical exam and Nihonggo exam since the employer is a Japanese company. He finished by 12nn.

Based on his story yesterday when I arrived at home from work, he got interviewed by a local then he was given a technical exam. The technical exam was a breeze since all he have to do is draw a 2D and 3D scheme. Next was an interview with a Japanese national. He understand the questions thrown at him in Japanese language and he can answer them in Nihonggo but in the latter part of their conversation he got confused with some of the words that the Japanese is asking him. Aside from that, he got confused on what is the proper anunciation of some of the Japanese words. The Japanese advise him then to take the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) in La Salle on December of this year in order for him to acquire a certificate. They want him to be at least on Level 4 or 3 in order for them to send him to Japan. Also, they need the person to be good in writing Japanese alphabet as well as conversational Nihonggo.

So there, I'm now on the hunt looking for establishments who teaches Japanese lessons. I surf the web and found one in Las Piñas and in QC which is far from our place. My friend told me that I could try the Languages International located in Arnaiz Ave. I called them just now and the lesson costs PHP 7,900 for 30 hours! Another one that I found on the net is the Nihonggo Center (PIJLC) that has a branch in Arnaiz Ave as well but there main office is in Sampaloc Manila. When I checked their website, their Elementary course is PHP 8,600 for 68 hours! I didn't know that Japanese lessons nowadays can be pretty steep! I'm not sure if the Japan Foundation Manila in Pacific Star Bldg along Makati Ave are offering Japanese lessons. All I can see in their website is the names of the schools and universites who are offering Japanese Language Education and Studies.

I still want him to enroll in Autocad lesson in Microcadd. But before he do either one of the lessons I mentioned, he will try his luck on his last job application next week which will be in Alabang...

Coffee Break Ver 1.36

That's what I felt after watching Charice with Celine Dion on their performance at Madison Square Garden last Monday (Sept 15).

She's one lucky girl and she deserves it! After being through a lot of struggle, it's her time to shine!

Thanks to YouTube ;)

Latin Fever

I remember the time that Latinos/Latinas alike making big waves in the world. First it was Thalia with her Mexican soap operas that invaded the Filipino homes. Then Dayanara Torres graces us with her presence after the Ms. Universe pageant by briefly participating in Philippines show business.

Then came Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias, Jessica Alba and many more. One thing's for sure. These Latin people are known to be romantic and loving. Not to mention they're good looks which makes them almost perfect...hehehe.

Well if you’re a bachelor wanting to meet Latina Girls then you can try your luck by signing up and getting to know each one of them. Registration is free and there's even a search engine to narrow down your choices in finding the girl of your dreams :)

US Recession

Last night I was able to watch the news in Channel 2. I was surprised to find out that Lehman Brothers (one of the largest financial institution in the world) have gone bankrupt and AIG (American International Group) is in the rocks as well.

BDO, Metrobank and Sun Life International have few stocks in Lehman Brothers but that doesn't mean that their business are affected. According to Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the companies that make an investment in Lehman Brothers are capable to survive since majority of the stocks are here in Manila.

AIG is the parent company of Philam Life which is one of the biggest insurance companies here in Manila. The president of Philam Life was interviewed and made an assurance that the company is stable since their capital and stocks are different and independent from AIGs (Philam have stable clients which are the big names here in Manila).

Early this morning, I was having a chat with my friend whose working in SG. She told me that Merrill Lynch (a leading financial management) decided to sell it's assets. If the economic crisis in the US continues, she believes that investors will soon turned to SG for building businesses.

Due to these events, stock markets around the world are affected.

One thing's for sure, this will cause a chain reaction to countries who depends on US.

Thanks Jan for this tag! I enjoyed it ;)

My birthday is on August 5th.

Color: Sun Orange
Character: Regal. Inspiring. Powerful
Profile: The color for the month of August is Sun Orange. Grand and royal, this is a color that resonates with poer and greatness. Gold signifies both spiritual and material wealth. The Sun moves through the majestic sign of Leo during the month of August. The sign of Leo rules royalty. The brightness of this color dispels darkness and is especially helpful when you feel the need to protect yourself. Wearing, meditating or surrounding yourself with Sun Orange increases joy and optimism. It also assists in aligning you with riches, monetary support and your position in life.

My Color: Feldspar
My Character: Independent. Trustworthy. Kind
My Profile: You have many gifts and talents. Your ability to make something out of nothing is awe-inspiring. People like you and when you feel centered, you can move in and out of professional and social spheres with grace and ease. Wearing, meditating or surrounding yourself with Feldspar integrates your need for independence and your desire for a loving partnership.

Feldspar's color ranges from pale blue up to park blue. That's probably the reason why I heart the color BLUE....hehehe.

Happy and Unhappy

Good morning everyone! I'm taking the time to blog before I get busy with for the day.

Last Saturday mostly was spent at home. I did the grocery for an hour and half while Hubby is busy zoning away.

Sunday both of us woke up early in the morning to hear mass at 7:30am. It was a good feeling for me to be there. It gave me strength and hope. After the mass, we went to MOA and meet up with my 2 sisters and 1 brother to celebreate little sissy's bday :)

We spent Php 400 playing games in Timezone then ate lunch at McDo since that's the request of the bday celebrant. After that I had her ears pierced for the 2nd time (the first one closed for months now). Then I bought a pair of jean for my other brother whose bday falls on September 1st (I forgot to make a blog entry for him) then off we went to my parent's house.

It was a tiring day but I'm ecstatic to see my family and put a smile on their faces. I will never ever wish for other family(ies) except for my own. Their presence is enough for me.

It was disheartening to know that I didn't get my bonus that they promised on the email that I will get last Friday. I checked my ATM yesterday when I was in MOA together with Hubby and lo! My bonus was not included in my salary.

I have the feeling that the admin is brushing our team aside (4 of us remains). And we felt that we are the ones who are not treated well compared to the other teams (which are mostly programmers).

Later I'm bound to call the manager who looks after me (Im the only person who directly reports in the US making me billable) and questioned about the bonus. It's been 2 months and frankly it's way too long to wait for a money that's not even that big in value (that is on their part).

Funday Friday

T G I F!

This means weekdays are over and it's time to unwind, spend time with the family and enjoy life oustide the walls of our office.

I don't have any definite plans yet for the weekends except for visiting my parents tomorrow in Parañaque together with hubby. Oh well, there's still plenty of time to think about it ;)

For my sisses in the blog world. This one's for you...

Sending this to -

Coffee Break Ver 1.35

Sorry Jan if my post is a little bit late. I'm still thinking on what to answer for this week's coffee break...hehehe.

Time to reflect!

I confess that it's been awhile (like more than 6 months) that I've been inside a church to attend mass. Same goes for hubby. But regardless, I still believe in the power of prayer. It really does wonder especially if you believe that it will happen.

For me, praying gives me the strength and hope that everything will be fine. Apart from that it gives me time to be with myself and with God. There are some instances that I find solitude and peace when praying. Sound s weird but that's how I feel expecially if I'm praying inside the church.

How's Your Marriage?

This is a good question... Thanks Mommy Mec :)

My Marriage Status...

Let's see... so far both of us are doing good in our marriage. The good thing about us is that we always talked as much as possible. After every argument, we always talk about the issue. I'm just praying that my husband will act maturely this time. That's the lesson that I want him to learn :)

I admit that 2 weeks ago I'm on the verge of giving up and embark on a "trial seperation". It has nothing to do with money or the fact that I'm the one working. My only sentiments is two words being RESPONSIBLE and DISCIPLINED with your own actions.

The only major issue that gets in our way as husband and wife is my better half's addiction in playing DOTA. To some, it's not a biggie but for me it causes a lot of stress and hurt. I felt that it's not fair that I have to do all the HARD WORK while I let him do the FUN. Maybe it's my fault as well since I've been very lenient.

We are still on the adjustment period but I'm pretty sure that I've made my point clearly the last time that I got pissed off. I'm not a demanding wife let alone a nagger one. I can be giving but you don't have to abused it. I can be a very patient and understanding partner but you don't have to test it and push it to the limits.

So here we are back on track and working together as a couple. We have arguments which seldom happens but when it does it's really a SERIOUS ISSUE. The only thing that's missing in our relationship is prayer. It's been awhile since we went to hear mass together.

This Sunday is a chance for us to strengthen our marriage with God in our midst. I think we can make it work.

Remembering 911

Aside from the fact that 911 leaves a mark in the history of the world especially in the US, it's my little sissy's birthday as well!

The youngest in our brood she's the exact opposite of me and my other sister (that is when we were her age). She's playful, boyish, outspoken, naughty and stubborn. Guess she knows that she's the BABY of our family. Regardless of her annoying tactics which always gets to me, she's the sweetest among us 5. She always hug and kiss my parents unlike us...hehehe.

A lot of our neighbors in Parañaque said that she looks like me when I was young....Hmmmm... I'm not really convinced but yeah we have few similar features, I guess.

Definitely she will be much taller than me and my other sister. A few more inches and we will have the same height and she's only 9 years old. Bummer! Why do I have to be the smallest?!

See you soon sissy! I'll treat you out and probably buy you a few things as my bday present

Belive it or not, it is foggy in Makati. Well, from my workstation point of view that is.

It's raining cats and dogs plus there's occasional lightning followed by a rumbling sound. Good thing that I always have a packed lunch everyday. I don't have to worry going down to buy food.

I hope I can get a transpo on my way home without a sweat. I have to get out here @ 4:40pm to avoid the rush.

I finished my workload about an hour and half ago and right now I'm just waiting for the clock to hit 5pm. That's my cue to go home!

Can't wait to be out of the office. I'm sooo bored in my workstation and the only thing that keeps me awake is performing my work, listening to mp3s in my PC and surfing the internet. I've yawned like a hundred times here for the day.

The atmosphere here in the office is far different from where I'm used to. The people here are unfriendly...hehehe. Except for a few persons that we already knew .

Time check, 30 minutes to go! It seems that the time is in a slow-mo.
