For the Love of Tea Latte

My dear friend and officemate, Rod actually sent us an email last week regarding the "Free Latte" coupon of Coffee Bean. You just have to present the coupon and then they will give you a latte without spending money. All of us thought that he was joking and having second thoughts if such freebie from a cafe really exist. Needless to say, we disregard his email and didn't bother to verify it with Coffee Bean.

Earlier today as I was reading emails from N@W yahoogroups, one member testified that indeed it was real! Immediately, I told Rod that the coupon is actually legit. And I told my other the colleagues as well. Since today is the last day for the free latte, I hurriedly search for the contact number of Coffee Bean in Convergys (that's the nearest outlet in our office). True enough, the crew who answered the phone told me that the coupons are vaild and we can avail it from 12 oon onwards. Ecstatic I spread the news to our team and Rod printed out the coupons. We ate our lunch first then at 1pm, we troop to Coffee Bean (Me, Con, Rod, Gi and Ms. Joy). It was just a drizzle when we got out of the office. I was wearing my jacket with hood while the rest didn't have any except for the coupons and their wallets.

There's already a line waiting outside the cafe. And your guess is as good as mine, all of them are clutching the same coupons that we have...ahahaha! We spent an hour on the cafe, waiting for our orders to be taken and for them to be served. Imagine, there are 3 baristas, 2 cashiers and 1 who's responsibility is to call out the names of the customer. Good thing that all of us didn't use our breaks and we've spent it all waiting for our free lattes. I ordered a Tea Latte Tropical Passion same with our PM then the rest ordered Tea Latte Double Vanilla.

Rod is the first one who got his order and he hurriedly went ahead back to our office. The rest of us wait for our turns then relief to be out of the cafe clutching our free lattes. As we head back to our office there's a tolerable rain showers and briskly we are on our way to the intersection of dela rosa st and salcedo st (near makati med) when the heavy rain suddenly pour. There's a waiting shed along the street where we stay hoping for the rain to be a drizzle if not stop. 10 mins passed but still the heavy rains continues. Apart from that, there's a flood building up on the waiting shed. My oh my!

Our PM happens to bring her mobile so she called our office and asked to fetched us by the receptionist bringing two large umbrellas. After 5 mins, here comes Mike. Though it's still raining heavy, we brace ourselves to leave the waiting shed and focus on going back to our office. Inside our office, our two colleagues (Niña and Aisah) and Rod (who went ahead w/o us) were laughing at us since most of our clothing are soaking wet. We jokingly blame Rod for leaving us behind and for giving us the coupons. Rod feeling a little bit guilty offered his clothes on his bag which he suppose to be using for his gym workout otday. I borrowed his jacket since my jacket is all wet. Con borrowed his t-shirt and short. Gi borrowed his havaianas slippers and another shirt.

Too bad I didn't take pictures of us...hehehe. I think my team mates will not like that idea either. We are all kidding around about the free latte of Coffee Bean. Imagine, we are risking to get wet just to have the free latte! It's our fault since we didn't bring an umbrella. The pirce you have to pay for being lazy...hehehe.

Btw, I didn't like the latte that I ordered. It tastes like your drinking a flower. It smells good though but to my team mates they liked it. Weird... I'm the only one who didn't appreciate it maybe because I'm not used to drinking tea lattes. For the record, this is the first time I actually tasted one...hehehe. Oooops, I still have one coupon in my wallet...I can used it later for the Double Vanilla Tea Latte...ahahaha! This time maybe I should go to Coffee Brean Greenbelt 3....

All About Photos

When I was preparing for our wedding, I was thinking of a souvenir that is worth keeping and not the common things that after so many years will eventually land on a wastebasket. I was actually considering Photo Gifts like the photo magnet or the onsite photo souvenirs then we will just have to put it on a frame or even photo calendars. I'm sure that the guests will love it since it's their own pictures that will be in the souvenirs. Unfortunately, hubby is not thrilled about this idea so we opted for pillows instead. At least they can use it at home or work plus both of us love pillows.

Then after a month of our wedding, most of our relatives are asking for our wedding album. We told them that it's not yet ready since we haven't selected the pictures. Some of our principal sponsors are asking for Photo Prints that up to now we haven't done as well. I was thinking of doing it on the weekend together with my priority of selecting pictures for our wedding album.

Today, I was selecting from the pictures taken by my back-up photographer which I so love! She had great shots that I even gave her a post-wedding-thank-you-present last week :) There is one shot where she made some revisions. Instead of a color picture (almost), it was in black and white. I and hubby are facing each other while I'm holding my bouquet and we were sited in the grass lawn of Oasis. The only colored that is visible on that shot is my bouquet and everything is black and white. I forgot to ask how she did it but there's always a next time. I want a
Photo Canvas of that picture and then I'll hang it in our apartment as our wedding portrait. Nice! (see the photo below)

Last Monday I called our photographer/videographer for our wedding to clarify some things. Up to now we haven't selected the pics for our wedding album. Yup, I know what you are all thinking. Barely 3 months to go and it will be our 1st year wedding anniversary and we still don't have our album and video. Let me explain why...

November last year, I told them that I want a variety of photos in our wedding album which means I want to see colored, black/white and sepia pictures all roll into our album. I was first told that we should do the editing of the pictures to the color schemes that we want and then give them the raw copies. They will take responsibility with the layout for the album. This got me baffled. Since that's the case, selecting of our wedding pictures for the album is not a bit exciting as it seems. Apart from that, both of us were busy with work plus the fact that I don't have a computer where I can sit and select the photos then edit them.

So back to the intro of this entry, I called them to clarify this issue for the 2nd time around. Again, I spoke to photographer's wife. This time she told me the opposite of what transpired last year about the pictures. She told me that they can do the editing and we just have to give them instructions on what picture should be in colored, b&w and sepia. Sheesh! If they told me that beforehand it wouldn't take forever for us to select the pictures and we probably have our wedding album by now.

For the meantime, I have a lot of projects that are long overdue (I made an entry for that in my blog) but I decided to make this the priority first. I will start selecting the pictures this weekend. Good thing I'm on VL for 2 more days which means I have plenty of time to select the pictures.

Pissed Off

I was in high spirits when I came to the office this morning for the ff. reasons:

(1) It's our payday today
(2) It means that are bonus that is due last July 16 will be in our payroll account today as promised by the HR manager.

Ha! The salary was there but the bonus in nowhere to be found. Geeze... it was supposed to be given 15 days ago and now, it's not there... again! I was expecting that bonus to pay for our rent and now I have no choice but to get it from my salary.

I'm just waiting for our PM to tell her that the bonus is not in our payroll. I have a deep sinking feeling that they will give it on the next payday.... Sh!t them... That's the only consolation that we have since compared to other recruitment BPO companies we don't have commissions and yet they're having a hard time giving it to us what is rightly due. We even have a signed contract for that bonus and it was stated when and how much should be given to us.

Arrggh! They really know how to spoil their employee's mood!....

Coffee Break Ver 1.29

Good thing that I made a visit to Jan's site. Otherwise I will never know that the coffee break topic is up and ready. I guess she must have forgotten to give us the link. I'm guilty with the fact that I'm waiting for her to leave a message on my cbox...hehehe.

Now, on to this week's topic. It's my favorite must haves - BAG. I'm the type of person who always need to carry one especially if I'm going out. The only time that you can see me without a bag will be going to the grocery on weekends .

Wondering what's inside my bag that I always have to carry it?....
What's in your everyday bag?

Once you open my bag, you will see -
an umbrella
a pen
a wallet
my kikay kit
a coin purse
my mobile phone in a purse
my ID together with the keys
a comb

Since my umbrella doesn't fit the normal size bags, I prefer to always have the big ones where I won't have any trouble putting the all the stuff that I need. Plus, it's easy for me to rummage within the bag when it has lots of space...hehehe. Whereas if I will be carrying a small bag, it's very tricky and challenging as well to organize all the listed things in that size of bag.

All About Credit Cards

Before anyone will consider getting a credit card, he/she should be aware of the pros and cons of having a credit card. Apart from that, he must have an idea on how credit card works to avoid being in debt and to enjoy the privileges and perks offered by the credit card companies.

Each of us have different purpose of having a credit card. It could be for personal, emergency, business, etc. Whatever your objective is, it's better to look around and snoop a bit about the company you would want to avail for the card. It would be helpful to browse the websites of each company your eyeing. Know the things you are looking for a credit card then try to see which of them comes close to your needs.

There are credit cards which are best used for balance transfers while others are recommended by experts to save you from bad credit. Others are cited as a "best card" for day to day purchases meaning for personal use.

If you want an instant credit card especially if it's for emergency purposes then there's a list available that you can look at and select which one suits you best. Just remember, equal responsibility of managing your purchases and budgeting your finances is needed if you will have to avail a credit card(s) .

I was watching yesterday night The Ellen Degeneres show and the commediene host showed a video about a product that does the activities of a horse. Of course not all people can own a horse except if you came from a rich family that can afford it.

It was called
iGallop and Ellen tried in on the show. You can enjoy (like) riding a horse in the comfort of your own homes. It was funny watching Ellen making a demo of the product. I bet a lot of people from her studio audience were thinking a different "thing" when Ellen push the button for galloping...hehehe.

I never knew it before but horse-back riding strengthens your hip muscle and thighs so apart from enjoying the scenery while riding a horse, you have a free workout as well. That's why OSIM created the iGallop product.

The thing is, it's pretty expensive... it costs US$ 449.10... Yikes!
I'll stick with my Hip Hop Abs DVD instead.

7 days

Exactly one week from now, it will be my 28th birthday! Time flies so fast that I can't believe I'll be turning 28 this year.

I've taken a leave for next monday and tuesday from work. Me and hubby will be going to Dasma Cavite this weekend to celebrate in advance my brother's birthday which is a day earlier from mine. My other siblings will be there as well except for our parents. This is our routine every year when me and my brother celebrate our birthday.

I have plans on my big day to go to Tagaytay (it's 30 mins away from Dasma) so I'm praying for a rain-free weather (crossing my fingers). Can't wait for the weekend to come! Ü

I had a free account with Kodak gallery for like 2 years until last July 1, I received an email from them that I have to avail their products/services in order for me to continue using their picture gallery. Bummer!

So I checked their website first and scan for any promos. Good thing they are offering a pocket album which costs $9.99 plus the shipping fee which costs me $5.99. Gladly I ordered one pocket album and chose some pics from our prenup done by my good friend Jazz (she borrowed her bf's digital camera who happens to be a professional photographer).

According to the delivery date, it will be 7-14 business days. Ater 7 days, I made a follow-up with their customer service through email. I was advised to wait for 7 more business days to check if I will get my order or not. After 7 business days I made a follow-up again since I still haven't receive any and today they sent me an email telling me that they will be sending me a replacement for my order! Geeze... I'm not really sure whose fault this is - Kodak or the courier.

Again, I have to wait for 5 business days to get my order (hopefully). If only I can give up my kodak account and I don't have to order or get any of their services...but I can't. There are lots of pictures there which I haven't upload in my multiply account... I wish I will get my order this time.

Rank 3

Every Monday, I always make it a habit to check my blog then my page rank. Unfortunately, this time I went down a notch. Yikes!

At least it's only minus one and I shoud be thankful for that. I heard some people got zeros. Honestly, I don't have any idea on how G decides on what will be your PR. Although I've read some explanations but it's still not clear to me. There are even some who claims that it really doesn't matter how low or high is your PR. I forgot the explanation. I read it a few months back when I was starting my blog.

Maybe I should read more about it later. For the meantime, time to do my job so I can have some spare time in the afternoon to do my "other" job. Hehehe.

Have a great morning everyone! Too bad the week started with buckets of rain
I just wish that next week will be a different picture...

Peter Answers

I was supposed to post this on Friday but I'm having trouble putting up images on this entry.

We were all busy working in the office last Thursday morning and then we heard surprised disbelief comments from two of our colleagues (both of them are females named Niña and Aisah).

One of my colleague (who happens to be a gay named Rod) got curious and went to their station to see what's the commotion all about. Then I can only hear our their whispers then after a couple of minutes, another voice of disbelief from our gay colleague. I got curious as well and so is my other two female colleaguea (named Gi and Con) . We all troop to their station to see exactly what's happening.
Turns out that Aisah has this website up on her desktop screen wherein you have to type any question then Peter (the virtual person on the website) will answer accurately whatever questions you have. Sound intriguing, right? One by one each of us ask a question in which in return it got accurate answers although some has typo errors. All of us are surprised and full of disbelief. We were all thinking that there is some black magic on that website that it can answer almost any questions we have and practically know all of us in the office.
After lunch break some of my colleagues decided to try the website for themselves. Three of them pull it up and start typing some questions. This time, they are confused on why the webiste doesn't give them some answers unlike before. The answers they got this time were like - "I'm a bit tired, could you try it later?" or "I will curse you". They are all thinking that probably virtual "Peter" is really tired...hehehe.

This got my brain working so what I did is make a quick research about this website and aha! I found the answer that I need. Turns out that the website's purpose is to make a good time out of your friends and family. In short, it's a PRANK. Explanation is that you pull up the website and it comes up with a two field boxes. The first box says - Petition the the second says - question.

The trick is, you will ask the person of the question they want to ask. If you know the answer that will be very easy on your end but if not, you have to ask them the answer and make an adlib. Now, on the first field that's where you will type the answer to the question, you need to start it first with a period followed by the answer. That field box is already porgrammed that whatever you type on the keyboard, the screen will show you the petition like - Peter, please answer: OR Peter, please answer the following question:. Be discreet and act like casually, your audience will never know the difference.

Then type the question on the second field. Upon hitting the enter key on your keyboard, Peter will answer like he knows everything. Pretty devious huh?!

All of us fall into this prank. Lesson learned: There is always an explanation for everything. Most of them are logical.

Window Coverings

When we were still staying at Hubby's aunt house, our room's window was covered with vinyl blinds and it's been there for quite sometime until last April when her aunt decided to replaced it with a curtain/s.

Most of the time, offices are the common place where we see blinds and shades. In the US, some homes replaced curtains by using blinds instead. I think it's okay especially if your home or room/s is fully air-conditioned or the surroundings of your home is well-ventilated. That will save you time and effort in fixing up your windows with curtains and not to mention doing the laundry. Just like curtains, blinds serves as a shield from the sun and also somehow conceal if not everything that's inside the house or rooms.

Now if you're looking for a blind that is eco-friendly but doesn't sacrifice its sole purpose which is to reduce heat and protection from UV rays then I can suggest Bali Blinds.

If you’re the type whose always on the look out for budget-friendly products then no worries. Try Bali Cellular Shades. They offer a great selection of fabrics and upgrades plus discounts as well.

Apart from Bali, Hunter Douglas Blinds has a product line which is the Duette Honeycomb Shades. It offers the largest selection of pleat size, opacity, and color plus you can have a free upgrade for Top-Down/Bottom-Up on their selected products + extra 5% off. Another brand that gives you a value for your money.

This gave me an idea for my future blinds and shades purchase in the future :)

My Guardian Angel

After watching The Fallen, I suddenly remembered the angel store in Robinson Manila where we used to go during college days. The name of the store is Angelissimo (spell check). They have all kinds of angel stuff and what got me interested is they have this miniature of 7 angels representing the seven days in a week. By knowing the day when you were born then you will know who is your guardian angel. The miniature angels is inside a velvet pouch bag together with a piece of paper that has the prayer for your angel.

I know that I bought a miniature angel but I have probably misplaced it in our house. Too bad. Now, I want to have again my guardian angel miniature! First, I need to find out whose my guardian angel. It's been 11 years since the last time I saw the miniature angels and I forgot whose my angel.

I found this website and enter my birth date to find out the day I was born. Turns out it was TUESDAY back then and so my guardian angel is none other than....

St. Raphael is the Archangel of the Christian's journey to heaven. He is assigned by God to accompany us along the way of our pilgrimage in search of the treasures of real happiness which God has in store for all His children. He also gives the light to discern correctly God's ways and protects us from the dangers that befall us on our way to our heavenly home. As his name Raphael connotes, "medicine of God," he is the Angel that brings good health and abundant provisions during our journey. (Tob. 8:3; 12:15).

He is also known as the archangel of Judaism, Christianity and Islam who performs all manner of healing.

Now I just have to look for the Angelissimo store if they still have this miniature angels. Or better yet, I can get a figurine of my guardian angel and hubby's as well. Hubby's angel is St. Gabriel since he was born on Monday. Time to search for an angel store!

The Fallen

Last Sunday where supposed to go to my dear friend's house, Laine to celebrate her son's 7th month birthday. Unfortunately, we didn't push through since it was raining hard in Makati. I was looking forward that time to see CK because his so adorably cute! His so much better and healthier now. Thank God :)

What we did instead was watched the mini-TV series THE FALLEN in DVD. My sister lent it to me a few months back and that's the only time we decided to watched it. Since it's a mini-TV series, we only spent a good of 5 hours (I think) and it's finished.

The series is intriguing since the subject is all about ANGELS. On the TV series, they tackle three kinds of angels (I know that there are different kinds of angels). The first one are the Fallen Angels which are the angels who were exiled and banished from heaven. This includes Lucifer himself.

The second kind is the Nephilim which is also called half-breed. They are half-human and half-angel. The story behind them (according to the TV series) is that some of the Fallen Angels decided to stay on earth and found the humans so beautiful they chose wives for themselves. Their offsprings becomes the Nephilim. This is the first time that I heard about them and I'm not sure if they do actually exist.

The third are called The Powers which is like a special task-force unit of angels whose tasked is to slew the Nephilims and punished the Fallen Angels. They believed that with the existence of Nephilims, the Earth is tainted by the evil doings of the Fallen Angels. For them Nephilim is equal to abomination.

Me and hubby enjoyed watching this, too bad that it only has one season composed of 20 episodes. A lot of people will learn more about angels and the fact that there are similarities between them and humans. Both of them must use their own free will and decide for themselves if their duties and responsibilities will be for good or bad.

I recommend all of you to watch this :)

Coffee Break Ver 1.28

Wow! It's our 28th week! Kudos to Jan for coming up with this idea :)

For this week's coffee break, it's all about SLEEP TALK! Sigh! I can just imagine myself deep in slumber at night on our bed while it's raining outside...

How much sleep is enough to keep you rejuvenated for the next day?

Right now, 7-8 hours is fine with me. I'm energize if I have these numbers for my sleeping hours everyday. I'm not the type of person who tends to sleep for 10-12 hours unlike others that I know. For me, lying in bed too much or sleeping most of the time within a day will result to headache...hehehe.

When I was in a call center before, that's the time I'm so addicted to sleep. If it's my rest day I can sleep for 10-12 hours straight. That's the only time I can keep up with the hours of sleep that I lack during my working days. This is the time that I learned about "PWER NAP" which is really helpful and it does wonders ;)

Beer Club

When I was a student, I'm not that keen with extracurricular activities that includes joining various clubs/organizations in school. There are times that I join a few clubs but I was never an active member. Most of all the active members are the officers of the club itself.

In the US they have these numerous clubs that are named with the things that are common and around us. Here's an example, they have the Beer of the month club wherein the members are called the microbrew scouts. They will educate you on the aspects of a beer and make you an expert. Pretty cool eh?!

But wait, there's more! Each member will get freebies and discounts every month! Woohooo! That's more like it! I'm not a beer drinker but the other clubs like
Beer of the month offers different freebies each month to it's members. If they have one like this in the Philippines, this will definitely be a sure hit! We all know that gals and guys here love to drink beer. Thanks to SMB :)

Just a note though, the membership is not free. You have to select your membership length then paid the amount of month/s that you will be a member. If you joined the other clubs, then you will get the same benefits and membership payment like the
monthly beer club. Important note: Their membership is open for 21 years old and above only which is justifiable if you ask me. CHEERS!

Superhero Tag

Thanks Jacque for this tag! Ü This got me thinking real hard...

If I am a mutant or had a special abilities I will definitely want to be INVINSIBLE. You have the pleasure to do everything you want without any audience and without leaving a trace :)

In real life, I think my special abilities would be (1) I get along pretty well with anybody. Even though I have so many friends with different personalities I managed to be friends with all of them. Apart from that, I'm getting along well with my siblings. Only a few times we do quarrel with each other or have some misunderstandings.

(2) I am a strong will person though I may say that I cry easily but being the eldest in the family proves that I can be strong in hard times especially when my family is involved. I have the tendency to bear all the problems and come up with a solution for all of it. Up to now, I still do the same thing between me and my husband. Since his no longer working, I'm the one who will act as a provider for the time being. I'm the one who will come up with solutions towards our financial issues. Good thing that I'm used to this scenario, otherwise I might quit and give up on us.

So there is my so-called special abilities. Not sure if it's really special to others but for me those are the traits that I find extra ordinary in me

Ms. India

I was planning to post this entry last Friday but the pic is not yet ready courtesy of our PM...hehehe.

I'm not talking about the Ms. India candidate in Ms. Universe but I'm going to talk about myself! Wondering why? I've come across a lot of people who always mistaken me as an "Indian". They say I look like one. Not that I'm complaining or anything...

Anyways, one of my colleague asked me if I can have my picture taken together with her shawl. She wants to fool her cousin that there's an Indian visitor in our office...hehehe. Gamely, I agreed.

So last Friday, I asked our PM if we can borrow her digicam then my other colleagues help me put something on my face like the red dot on the center forehead and applying an oh so red lipstick. Plus they put some cheek tint and arrange the shawl on top of my shirt and voila! (I'm the one in the middle)

Hmm... what do you think? Do I look like an Indian? Ü

Special thanks to - Niña (for her shawl and the mastermind behind this pic), Gi (for her Max Factor red lipstick and lip balm), Ms. Joy (for the digi cam) and Con (for her participation in the pic).

Shining and Shimmering

"Diamonds are a girl's bestfriend" - That's a quote that always pops in my mind whenever I hear jewelry/ies. Well, there's actually a truth on that. Most of the female population likes accessories especially if it's jewels or gemstones. I mean, who wouldn't?

Tiffany's is a well-known establishment in making fine jewelries and diamonds (remember the scene in Sweet Home Alabama where the politician guy proposed to Reese Witherspoon in Tiffany's NY). Apart from them, another organization is known in designing, manufacturing and distributing colored gemstones and jewels. They are the
STS Jewels in Long Island, NY.

This is the first time that I actually heard of them but they have extensive product development and infrastructure team spread worldwide! Apart from that, STS Jewels specialization is Tanzanite Jewelries (Tanzanite is actually classified in the gem world as a three-colored gem and can onlye be found in Tanzania, Africa). So when you see deep blue, flashes of purple and shades of violet in one stone, they are exclusively tanzanite's. Too bad I haven't seen one. It must be precious like a Blood Diamond :)

To know more about them and their Tanzanite jewelries, you can search them in the web. Just type in STS Jewels and see for yourselves their exquisites jewelries that will surely take away every girl's breath.

What's in a NAME?

It's start of a new week and I decided to answer last Thursday Q's in N@Wie (wohoo!) .
It's an interesting topic about knowing each other's names and the reason behind it so here's mine...

1. What is your full name and its history? (Who named you? Does your name have a meaning? Who are you named after?)
My full first name is Joanne. I was named afte rmy parents whose names are Jun and Anicia. They just combined their names together then my mother added a few letters to make it unique (somehow).

2. What is hubby's full name and its history?
His name is Randiej (pronounce as Randy). I think his father was the one who named him but I'm not sure the reason or history behind it. All I know is that their father is creative in giving names and changing its spellings (for example, his brother is named Khriztoffer).

3. When you were younger (maybe high school age), what names would you doodle on paper whenever you'd daydream about being married someday?
Normally I just doodle my first name then add the surname of my crush at that time. For example: Joanne Garcia =P

4. What do your parents call you when they're angry and you're about toget a sound scolding?
Those who are close to me like family and selected friends called me Jo. If my parents are angry they will called me by my whole first name. Same thing with my siblings. That's what I observed from them.

5. Do you like your name? Why or why not? If your answer is no, wha tname do you wish you had instead?
I like my name. It's common nowadays but it's fine with me. After all, I was named after my parents so there's a sentimental reason behind my name. No regrets at all. I'm happy with it :)

Shopaholic Series

I finally did it!
I'm done reading the e-books of Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic series. It was addicting to read it and sad to say I have no more shopaholic books to read at.

While I was reading it, I was having mixed emotions. There are times that I'm laughing alone and sometimes I'm crying by myself. Hubby caught me once crying, I was reading the Shopaholic and Sister. At that time, Beck was having troubles with Luke (his husband). She thinks that sooner or later they wil be heading to splitsville. I was emotional at that time when I was reading it since we are having some issues as well. But all is well now.

Moving forward, the series are very entertaining. It's funny, witty and there's a moral value. You will never get bored and it feels like you've been with them throughout the your some character that is a part of their world as well. That's what I feel most of the time when I'm reading it. I feel the same way when I was so hook reading the Sweet Valley series...ahahaha!

I recommend this chick lit to all the females out there! You will never regret spending your time with these books :) Promise!

Baby Gifts and Cakes

Whenever I'm going to send gifts for my friend's babies or my god daughters and sons, I always make it a point that it's functional and it will be used for a very long time. I want my money's worth and of course, I want their parents to be happy as well with the gifts that I'm giving....hehehe.

There's a wide variety of
Baby Gifts that you can select depending on your budget and must-have /nice-to-have things you want for the baby. There's a blankie, unique photo albums, pillows, dresses, etc. For me, I find it easier to come up with a gift for a girl instead for a boy. It seems that there are a lot of options for female gender than male making it tough to come up with a nice gift. If that's the case, I advise you to give Diaper Cakes. I first heard of this last year and when I saw one, it's really cute and unique. Surely, parents and babies will love it! The cakes are made up of diapers, lotions, shampoos, blankies and other baby accessories all bundled up in a 3-5 tier cake. Also, you can customize the cakes depending on your preferences. Cool huh?

I hear a lot about baby showers but I've never been actually gone into one. Most of my friends who have kids now didn't plan for a party for the baby. Well, it's not really a big deal here in Manila unlike in other countries. But if ever I will be invited in the near future, I will surely do a research for some ideal
Baby Shower Gifts. I'm the type of person who wants to give a gift that will be useful and will last long.

Let's see, I have two friends who will give birth this year. Might as well think of something I can give to them before their respective due dates...

Cool Parent

You Will Be a Cool Parent

You seem to naturally know a lot about parenting, and you know what kids need.

You can tell when it's time to let kids off the hook, and when it's time to lay down the law.

While your parenting is modern and hip, it's not over the top.

You know that there's nothing cool about a parent who acts like a teenager... or a drill sergeant!

Beautification through Technology

Every Saturday night, I always watched Dr. 90210 where they featured some of its known plastic surgeon around the Beverly Hills California area together with their patients for beauty enhancements.

Most of the patients that were on the TV show were to undergo breast enhancement and breast augmentation. I guess that's the popular form of beautifications for surgeons. I can't blame them, through this cosmetic surgery their physical appearance improves and it boosts their self-confidence as well. I saw one girl which is on her early 20s but she look like a teenager since she is so petite. She went for a breast augmentation surgery in order to be physically fit with her age.

Same thing goes for patients who opted for liposuction. If there are unwanted body fats in one's body that is hard to get rid of despite of hitting the gym, then this is the best way to remove them. With the technology that we have today, there are a lot of liposuction procedures you can choose from. There are even some that are non-surgical.

Tummy tuck on the other hand is known for patients who gave birth or went through a multiple births. This type of procedure can help you with that kind of problem. It will improve the stretched abdominal muscles and skin acquired during the pregnancy period. Apart from them, older people are also seeking this type of cosmetic surgery. Loss of skin elasticity due to slight obesity can also be corrected.

Regardless of the cosmetic surgery you prefer to do, make sure that your body, mind and your wallet is ready for it. Lastly, it's important that you seek a reliable and competent surgeon to do it for you so be sure to do a little research of your own.

My Motivation Quote

"Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life but as by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed."
~Booker T. Washington

>>> AMEN to this quote!

Coffee Break Ver 1.27

Oohh, this is fun! I love MUSIC! And I feel for ABBA when they sung, Thank you for the Music! Yeah! Thank you so much indeed!

Let's see, uhmm... I have a wide variety of music genre so I'm just going to rack up my brain for the songs that I normally would like to listen to.....

Okay! I have some, I'm not sure if it's "baduy" enough but some of the songs are influences of my Love.

What baduy love song do you like listening to?

(1) Hold On by Neocolours - This is one of my Hubby's favorites song and he liked the band as well. Gosh, I suddenly remembered that I sung a few lines for our wedding video. Yikes!

(2) After All by Air Supply - I love the melody and the lyrics of this piece. My grandmother loves listening to their songs =D

(3) Will You Still Love Me by Chicago - I love the message of the song. I think Hubby was thinking of including this in our wedding songs playlist. He must have forgotten it.

(4) You're My Inspiration by Chicago - obviously, the title itself is a visual proof why I liked it...ahahaha!

(5) I'm All About You by Aaron Carter - Surprise! Yeah, I know that Nick's younger brother sung this song when his about 14 or 15 but who cares? I like the message of the song. I always listened to this in my office workstation...hehehe.
Thanks for this week's coffeebreak Jan! Ü
