As of press time, Hubby texted me about his checkup with the Urinologist. Unfortunately, he was advised to undergo the Shockwave Treatment for his stone which is worth 45k. It's a non-surgical procedure that is now a trend in order to treat kidney stones.
I couldn't think straight after hearing this. We don't have much savings since almost all of it went to our apartment.
I'm having an early off. I need to go to UST for my hubby. I'll keep you posted tomorrow.
Bye for now...

Maybe you could ask your doctor if there are alternatives. Like eating certain supplements or exercising as opposed to the procedure. Or do your own research. Some doctors in the Philippines aren't as honest as you'd think...sadly...

I will pray for his health... He has to shape up after this, this is pretty serious.... diba kidney process our bodys waste? It converts "waste" to urine? Tama ba hehehe.
I cant imagine the same thing happening to my husband.
Tcare!
45K? Thats too much. There's gotta be another alternative. I heard buko juice every morning is good for treating kidney stones too.\
Keep us updated. We'll pray for his recovery.
Thanks peeps!
Unfortunately, buko juice will no longer help =(
Hubby's stone is 0.2cm and it's located in the left ureter (that's the tube connected to the kidney going to the bladder for urine wastes). Accdg to the doctor it's critical if the stone will fall into the bladder.
hi, i just wanted to know what procedure does your husband undergo because my husband's doctor advise us to have shockwave but it cost too much? Any alternatives?

Hello Shiella!
I guess it depends on the location of your husband's kidney stone. How about if you ask the doctor if it's possible to perform a surgical operation instead of the non-surgical?
Correction on the size of my hubby's kidney stone. It was measured at 1cm thus he needs to undergo the non-surgical operation.
