Tiring but Fruitful

That's what hubby and I experienced last weekend. We bought a few cleaning materials needed for our "spic and span" project =) Both of us were exhausted but it felt good (for me) because I realized that we made a great team and cleaners...ahahaha! Hubby sacrificed of not getting a rest after 12 hours of work for 2 days just to clean up the apartment. The weekend is not enough to make our place "homey" like we wanted. Hopefully, hubby will be back on Wednesday and Thursday (his day offs) to put up the vinyl tiles in the living room area without my assistance since I have to work.

Will post the pictures here soon once the apartment is A-OK... so stay tune =P

The Four (4) Wives

Once upon a time... There was a rich King who had 4 wives.

He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to the finest of delicacies. He gave her nothing but the best

He also loved the 3rd wife very much and was always showing her off to neighboring kingdoms. However, he feared that one day she would leave him for another.

He also loved his 2nd wife. She was his confidante and was always kind, considerate and patient with him. Whenever the King faced a problem, he could confide in her to help him get through the difficult times.

The King's 1st wife was a very loyal partner and had made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and kingdom. However, he did not love the first wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her.

One day, the King fell ill and he knew his time was short. He thought of his luxurious life and pondered, "I now have 4 wives with me, but when I die, I'll be all alone.

Thus, he asked the 4th wife, "I have loved you the most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"
"No way!" replied the 4th wife and she walked away without another word. Her answer cut like a sharp knife right into his heart.

The sad King then asked the 3rd wife, "I have loved you all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"
"No!" replied the 3rd wife. "Life is too good! When you die, I'm going to remarry!" His heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd wife, "I have always turned to you for help and you've always been there for me. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?"
"I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!" replied the 2nd wife. "At the very most, I can only send you to your grave." Her answer came like a bolt of thunder and the King was devastated.

Then a voice called out: "I'll leave with you and follow you no matter where you go." The King looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny, she suffered from malnutrition. Greatly grieved, the King said, "I should have taken much better care of you when I had the chance!"

In Truth, we all have 4 wives in our lives ...

Our 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it'll leave us when we die.
Our 3rd wife is our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, it will all go to others.
Our 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how much they have been there for us, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.
And our 1st wife is our Soul, often neglected in pursuit of wealth, power and pleasures of the ego.

However, our SOUL is the only thing that will follow us wherever we go.
So cultivate, strengthen and cherish it now! It is your greatest gift to offer the world. Let it Shine!

World Almanac Test

How many countries can you name in 5 minutes?

I'm not making a movie review for Adam Sandler and Kate Beckinsale's film which has the same title as the above but this is all about another paid forum site that I discovered.

On my previous blog entry, I introduced
MYLOT which is a paid forum site that is legit and it really does pay (haven't got my payment yet since I needed a total of $10 to redeem my money). Don't worry I will let you know once I have my first payment from this website just to prove that it's for REAL.

However, they don't offer as much as paid blogging sites do (you will need to wait for a few more months for a $10 payout on my case since I'm not participating in the discussion everyday).

Apart from MyLot, there is another paid forum site which genuinely pays and proven by other bloggers that are my contacts in My Blog Log.

Presenting, CLICKEX.

It has the same obejctive as MyLot which you'll get paid for every post on the discussion board and for referrals. However, there are selected topic/category on the boards that don't pay.

It's a blogger's discretion if he/she will try paid these forum sites or not.

Around 6pm, I arrived at hubby's aunt house in QC where we stayed for 5 months and make it our "temporary" home. Hubby already prepared our wedding gifts that we were about to transfer to our rented apartment in Makati. But before we went off, I told hubby if we could eat dinner since I'm really starving.

Good thing our housekeeper already cooked our meal for dinner so I wolf down my meal in about 5-10 mins. Hehehehe.

After that hubby and I went outside to look for a cab then we started putting our stuff in the trunk and on the backseat, then off we go to Makati.

On the apartment, we just put our things in the cabinet then measure the floor area of the living room, kitchen and bedroom.

This coming weekend, we will drop by the apartment to clean it up and hopefully put vinyl tiles on the floor. We decided that it's better to use vinyl tiles versus linoleum since linoleum wear and tear easily.

Hectic Weekend coming our way!

GO Signal

Me and hubby were so worried on how to tell his aunt that we are moving out of the house. Right after our wedding, we stayed in their house and we knew that his aunt wants us to stay their for good (that's what we heard).

Hubby called me a couple of hours ago and informed me that he finally called his aunt and told her that we are moving on our own apartment. I nervously asked him the reaction of his aunt and he said that it was OK with her. She even asked hubby if the place is safe.

Whew! What a relief! We can move out without worrying or having any bad feelings with his aunt. Hubby even told his brother the same thing that we are moving out and his okay with it as well. Yey!

So, this is it! Were on our OWN now. Another change(s) in our lives and it's only the first quarter of 2008.

More surprises and excitement (?) coming our way in the coming months. I BET!

Little by Little

We will be moving some of our things to our apartment this afternoon. I told hubby that it will be better if we could move some of the stuff today to lessen our baggage when it's time for us to finally move.

I'm not sure what are the things that he will bring but most of them are our wedding gifts that we haven't use yet. We still need to buy a linoleum to replace the old one that was on the apartment but we need to measure first the floor area.

Aside from that, we need to buy essential stuffs that we need for our new "home". We're going to take it one item at a time so this means practicing my skills in budgeting the money.

This will be the "real deal" for both of us to learn how to cope up with each other and to be responsible and mature in every possible ways to work as a team in starting our own family. I know we can make it... I'm positive of it

I just want to share this forwarded text message by Hubby's cousin, Diane =)

Life is hard... because we see the obstacles, not the goals.
Life is painful... because we see the tears, not the smiles.

People are rejected... because we see their faults, not their deeds.
People are weak... because we see their failures, not their success.

It is the way we look at things that makes this world worthwile to live in, not plainly on our judgement.

Coffee Break Ver 1.2

This week's coffee break by Jan thus begins with this question in mind:

If you were to suggest summer venues in the Philippines, what 3 get-away trips would you recommend?

- If I have the moolah, I will definitely go to Amanpulo (sigh! kelan pa kaya yun?)
- Cebu-Bohol trip (be a tourist in your own your own)
- Boracay (mukhang di matutuloy ito for this year)

I actually have a lot of places in mind that I want to visit...

I'm not referring to the brand of clothes or perfume but to my inaanak which I finally got to visit last Saturday. His real name is Clark Kyann so we call him CK. But to his parents, he has a pet name of bola. He is the 3-month old baby that I'm talking about in my previous blog entries that was diagnosed with Meningitis.

I arrived at Quirino Memorial Hospital in Project 4 at 11:30am. Ryan and Laine were there taking turns to check CK in ICU. I can tell from the look on their face the weary and lack of sleep. Lalaine accompanied me to the Pediatric ICU. We need to put on a robe and a slipper before we could come close to the baby. CK was sleeping peacefully and every once in awhile he was smiling. I bet that his guardian angel was playing with him at that time. There's no trace at all that he was sick. Good thing that they removed his detrox already. Hopefully, CK will fully recovered in a matter of a week or two before they can release him.

I stayed with them until 4:30pm since I have nothing to do at home. I chatted with them and catch up that was happening in our lives. Laine told me the cause of CK's Meningitis. It was his Pneumonia before that they thought was cured and gone. It went up to his brain and caused Meningitis. I have a strong gut feeling that this was the
Pneumococcal Disease that is reportedly to affect children in Asia. She told me that most of the children in the Pediatric Ward had Pneumonia.

Tha only way to prevent the Pneumococcal Disease is by having the IPD vaccine. Too bad, CK doesn't have this vaccine yet. Actually, according to his mom his vaccines are not yet complete since his just 3 months old.

I hope he will be okay soon. I'm looking forward for his 1st Birthday in December.

Breaking the News

Hubby and I are having trouble on how to tell his aunt that we are moving out of the house. Just last week we found an apartment in Makati City and made a downpayment last Friday. Speedy eh?! =D

It's not that big compared to the house that we are staying now but it's good for the two of us. Also the rent is cheap considering it's in Makati...hehehe. Aside from that, the landlady assures the safety of the place since the apartment is within their family compound.

I have mixed emotions about moving on our own - excited and nervous at the same time.

But before we could actually move to our "own place", we have to tell the news to his aunt. We have to come up with a good reason and explain it well. I wonder how will she handle it...

Happy Easter

Here I am in an internet cafe making a quick peeks on fellow bloggers website and checking my blog as well.

I just want to greet everyone a....

Hope y'all had a wonderful, peaceful and relaxing holiday Ü

Thanks Jan for this bouquet...hehehe. Your always welcome ;) Next coffeebreak ulit! =D - The place for profile layouts, flash generators, glitter graphics, backgrounds and codes

The Heat is On

Just like the lyrics of the song with the above title, SUMMER is definitely here! Have you noticed the change in the weather and most especially the temperature? INIT! As in!

Normally I never really drink much glasses of water unless if it's during the meal time. But now, I always got thirsty that even I'm just plain watching TV in our room, I have to go to the kitchen and quench my thirst.

Yesterday evening before I go to bed, I was having a chitchat with my hubby's niece (she stayed with us for 3 days and 2 nights). She's a 7 year-old kid and a natural chatterbox...hehehehe. She was saying that her Tito Randiej before (when he was single) always used the aircon that was in our room but when we got married, he never uses the AC anymore. This made me smile since I knew the answer to her narration-question sentence. I told her to asked his Tito Randiej why is that. So she immediately asked my hubby. And of course, his answer is that the electric bill will hike up like it normally does when they used the AC before. From their normal bill of 2k it will jump right into 4k!

But even if that's the effect of using AC at homes with the electric bill, I noticed that a lot of people still purchase AC units or air cooler during the summer months. I bet they can't stand the heat...hehehe. I don't mind using electric fan for the meantime, it's still serve it's purpose for me. Hubby on the other hand is thinking of buying an air cooler...hmmm... I wonder if theirs any difference between using an Air Cooler and AC on the electricity bill...

Girls Night Out Permission Form

Since boys need to fill up a form in order to have a night out, it is only fair that girls should have one as well...

Boys Night Out Permission Slip

Got this thru email from my good friend Weng. Imagine how all the males/boys would react if they need to sign this form in order to have a night off...ahahaha!

I bet they will behave so well and give you the most innocent look they could muster =P

Boys Night Out Form

Not in the Mood

- I only have 5 hours of sleep. At 11:30 pm I suddenly woke up because hubby is playing PSP. You can hear the sound his fingers make when hitting the keys/buttons on that gadget. Good thing he turned it off when I suddenly rose from our bed and told him that I'm having a hard time sleeping (buti naman at nakahalata).

- At around 4am this morning, I'm having abdominal cramps. I thought that I will not be able to go to work.

- I have a minor headache due to lack of sleeping hours.

- I'm still waiting for my abdomen feels heavy.

- I came here at the office around 7:45 am and so far I haven't accomplished anything except checking my personal emails and my blog...hehehe

Apartment Hunt

Last weekend I texted hubby that I really want us to have a place of our own even if we have to rent it for the meantime. Though I have no issues with his brother and aunt but still I feel uncomfortable. Right after the wedding when we decided to stay temporarily to his aunt's place, I've always known in my heart that this is not my HOME and that I will not be at ease moving around the house. That is the reason why I'm always at our room and I easily get bored that I always want to go out of the house.

I told hubby that we should move out either next month, May or in June. Even if it's a 1BR space as long as were together and I can move freely and do the things that I want. I also want us both to be independent and to work as a team in establishing our family (that includes learning household chores).

Right now, the search is on. Our target place is in Makati that is near to LRT station so hubby won't have a hard time commuting to work.

These are one of the few changes that will happen to us for 2008.

Coffee Break Ver. 1.1

Shared by Jan in obeservation of the Holy Week (thanks sis!).

With last Sunday's observation of Palm Sunday, it quietly signifies the beginning of the Lenten Season. Catholics and Christians all over the world take time out to observe Christ's passion for a week year after year.

Here in our country, every individual has his own way of observing the Holy Week. Some attend reatreats for spiritual healing and renewal. Some visit churches, also called Visita Iglesia, to experience what Christ went through by praying the Way of the Cross. For some individuals, the Lenten Season may mean a time to relax by going on out-of-town trips with family and friends. It could also mean parties and merry-making for some who feel this is their only chance to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

Jesus by Rosemary Buffoni

Given the respect and understanding that we all have our free will to choose how we spend the Holy Week, our coffee break begins with this thought in mind:

Is your Lenten Season

a time for reflection

or a time for relaxation?

8 Facts About Myself

Tagged by Chie. Thanks sis for the tag! It's been awhile since I've done a tag...hehehe.

In the 8 facts about yourself, you share 8 things that your readers don’t know about you. Then at the end you tag at least 8 other bloggers to keep the fun going. Here are the rules.

* Each blogger must post these rules first.
* Each blogger starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
* Bloggers that are tagged need to write on their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
* At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
* Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

1. Apols and I are sister-in laws. His hubby and my hubby are brothers.
2. I have a habit of biting my nails (yeah, I know it's kinda childish and gross somehow)
3. My original plan to get married is in the year of 2008. Well, naging 2007 na kasi naaawa na ako kay hubby kakahintay eh...but I have no regrets of doing it.
4. I shoulder my brother's school tuition fee. He will graduate from grade school this April. I have to get ready for highschool na.
5. I looked like a college student...ahahahaha!
6. Hubby and I met online thru GP chat (Surprised?!)
7. There are times that I feel like I'm hubby's older sister even if his 3 years older than me.
8. Hubby and I wish to have a fraternal twins (boy and girl). I'm not sure if it will be possible since twins doesn't run in our families.

Pacquiao and Marquez: Part 3?

As early as 8am, I switched on the TV to see if there is anything news or footage for the Pacquiao-Marquez rematch. Naturally, I didn't see any. It's way too early...hehehe. So while waiting for hubby to come home from work, I was watching Dragon Ball Z @ a local TV station (yeah, there's a part of me that wanting to watch this anime).

Hubby arrived past 8:30 am. I joined him for breakfast then afterwards we went to our room and checked Solar Sports channel that was around 9:30 am. They are showing his match with Solis at that time. Then afterwards, they shown the first match between the Pacman and Dinamita. That was 4 years ago and I vaguely remember what happened at that time. I was surprised to see that on the 1st Round, Pacquiao was able to knockdown Marquez 3x. Wow! That was something. That's probably the reason why he was asking for a rematch. Even if I was a boxer and the decision is DRAW, I would have asked for a rematch as well.

After the footage of their first encounter, they started the program for the Rematch of Manny and Juan Manuel. There will be 3 undercard match before the main event. I'll tell you, I was bored watching the undercard bouts. Hubby and I fell asleep. Good thing when we woke up, the main event haven't started yet.

We are switching the channels from Channel 7 to Solar Sports. In fairness to GMA, they are ahead of Solar Sports. So we stick to watching with 7. The only bad thing about it is they have too many commercials...sheesh! Ciara Sotto sang the Philippines National Anthem. For the National Anthem of USA, it was a teenage girl with a Filipino-Mexican heritage. I forgot her name but she looks like a Filipino.

The first 2 rounds are in favor to Marquez. Pacquiao at that time is not yet doing anything special. On the 3rd round, he surprised everyone when he knocked down Marquez. Too bad it only happened once...hehehe. Due to the knockdown, Juan Manuel slowed down his moves that made Manny take the 4th round. For the next 3 rounds, it's all in favor of Marquez. Actually the scores are in seesaw. To sum it all up, it was a close fight between the two champs. I was actually expecting that the match will be a DRAW but lo and behold! Pacquiao won the match by split decision... The stunned look on Marquez face and his team when the announcer declared who the winner was.

Due to this result, I bet that there will be a part 3 for this 2 fighters. Juan Mauel's camp will not let Manny let off the hook with the title so easily.

If there will be a 3rd match, Pacman needs to prove that his worthy to have the championship belt .

Plans for Holy Week

Hmmm... I was actually thinking of going to my Lola's house in Cavite for the Holy Week but I'm not sure if hubby will be okay with that. Imagine, 4 days of no work ... I really want to make the most out of it. I don't want to stay at home because I have nothing to do except watch TV or DVDs. Hubby on the other hand will be busy playing on the pc.

The only plan that I have so far is for Thursday, I will visit CK (the baby of Ryan and Laine) who was diagnosed with Meningitis. I feel bad that I was not able to do it for the last 2 Saturdays. Baka magtampo si Ryan. Para pa namang babae yun, matampuhin lalo na kapag close friend nya. So I have to get myself to that hospital. Even if I have to be alone, I must see their family. Also, I really wanted to see him (Ryan). I missed his crazy antics during our CL days. We shared the same sentiments with regards to family matters...hehehe.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday... No ideas on what to do on these days. Normally, I spent the Holy Week at my Lola's house when I'm still single. Haaay... Ano kaya ang pwede kong gawin???

Step Up 2 (The Streets)

My plans for Saturday changed. Due to miscommunication with my other peers we were not able to visit the baby of our friend. Sigh! I feel bad. I really want to visit. Hopefully I could do it this week since Thursday and Friday is holiday so I don't have to go to work.

Anyways, hubby asked me if we could watched a movie on Saturday afternoon. Sort of like our weekly date...hehehe. So off we went to SM Manila (hubby needs to go to work after our date and this is the only mall that is near to his work). I got to select the movie that we weill be watching. Naturally, I chose Step Up 2 since I sooo love dancing. I like the dance steps. The songs in the movie are cool and upbeat. Just the way I like it. The moves are complicated since the theme is street dancing. The movie left me in awe.
I vowed that I will buy the sountrack album of the movie and the DVD of course :) Hubby is just smiling at me. He knows that I love to dance. Unfortunate for him, he haven't seen me dance yet...ahahaha!

Dancing Low???

I was playing the song "Low" by Flo Rida featuring T-Pain. I like this so much since it's upbeat and its a perfect background music to hit the dance floor.

"Low" is included in the OST of Step Up 2. I definitely need to watch that movie since I've seen Step Up 1. I love dancing over singing. I think it's my hidden talent...hehehe. When I was in kindergarten, grade school and highschool I always dance alot. On college days I occasionally dance in Streetlife (in Glorietta) with my friends which only happened thrice if my memory serves me right. That was our junior year and senior year. We celebrated after passing our thesis defense.

I missed dancing.... back then it's my form of exercise. I wonder when will I dance again...

Weekend Agenda

Honestly, I have nothing in mind to blog about... I'm just plain excited for the weekend to come. Apart from that, it's payday today! Wooohooo! A lot of malls are having their sale. Need to budget first my money and prioritize my payments. Hmmm... have to budget wisely this time.

For Saturday, I have a plan to visit the baby of my dear friends Ryan and Laine. The baby was diagnosed having a meningitis and he had to stay in the ICU for 3 weeks. I'm hoping and praying that the baby will be okay, it's unfortunate to find out that at a young age the baby have to be confined. His just 3 months old. After visiting the baby I might go to the gym. It actually depends if I have a spare time to workout....I really hope I do.

On Sunday, no plans to go out (yet) since me and hubby will be busy watching the Pacquiao-Marquez rematch. This means no traffic in Metro area...hehehehe! It's amazing on how Pacman can make the Filipino people stay at their homes. It's like celebrating Good Friday

NO 1 Peso Seat Sale from Manila to Caticlan

That's right folks! I'm excited to wait for there One Peso Seat Sale promo only to find out that it will never materialized. Instead, they offer 688 pesos airfare from Manila to Caticlan all year round starting March 28, 2008.

Grrr! I did a test-run to check how much it will cost us for this 688 fare. I booked for a flight in Cebu Pacific for a roundtrip fare for two. The total amount for the fare including taxes and charges is 4k+. OMG! That's almost 9k for 2 heads for an airfare. Hmp! It's not worth it. I might as well avail the PALakbayan Package where I only have to spend PHP 9,683 per head. That includes roundtrip airfare, land transfers, daily breakfast and 2 nights hotel accomodation.

I'll just have to wait for PAL's discounted price/promo after Holy Week then....
